2nd child I forgot what to expect

Hello

My husband and I have our first doctors appointment 1/13. This is my second pregnancy however, my son is 10 years old (I can't believe that time went by so fast) so I don't remember what happens at this appointment. Will we get to hear our baby heartbeat, will we get to see him or her? Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect?

I'm going to get the book what to expect when expecting this weekend.

It really all depends on your practitioner, how far along you are, risk, etc....

My first appointment consisted of going over medical history for myself and family, meeting a doctor, doctor shoving her fingers up my vag, giving me a shot and orders to go get dating scan and lab work.

It depends on your doctor and how far along you are. We heard the heartbeat via Doppler at 9w, but that's not common.

My first visit last week was VERY boring. They took urine and did a test to ensure I was preggo. Then today I had my blood draw (and another urine sample). Next visit next week (7 wks pregnant) will consist of med history, vag check and if I am really lucky maybe an U/S :-)

I think different doctors handle things differently tho, my good friend who lives 45 minutes away won't have an U/s or second appointment until 13 weeks.
