Did it with ds1. Will do it again with ds2. I was pretty strict about it too, but we had just switched to a paleo diet before starting solids, so having a soft veggie and protein options at each meal was easy. Never had to buy baby food, make anything different for him, or sit with a spoon and feed him. It worked well for us.
Well I have to make "baby food" for my Mom because her ALS has gotten so bad that she can not chew and swallow and chokes alot. After seeing how much work goes into making it and making dinner for the the other 4 of us I am tired. I like he sounds of just giving DD what we are eating.
This is my 2nd child and I can honestly say this is he first I've heard of BLW. I have a question, do you stick with only milk until 6 months? Or do you start BLW sooner? (This concept is new to me) what are pros and cons?
Wih baby led weening the baby leads the way. So milk or formula is the main source of food and solids are extra. It is better to wait till 6months to start solids as babies guts before 6minths are still very senative. There is a book that I am getting that is all about baby led weening and they made a cook book also. I like that with baby led weening ou let your baby decide on how muh they want while with puréed spooned food you are more likely to over feed baby.
One thing with baby led weening is be prepaired for family and other people to give you bad looks and call you crazy. If you like the how baby led weening sounds but are scared to dive fully in you can do a little puréed food and a little BLW. Gagging is communing even with puréed food because it's new to have the textures and not just liquid.
