2nd Trimester

Brag on your bra!

I began pregnancy as a 32 C (which had a little room in the cups.) Now my boobs are getting bigger and I'm loving it! What I'm not loving is that I'm going to have to spend money on new bras because my cup runneth over. I don't want to just get cheap bras for now since I'm sure they will continue to grow, but I also don't want to spend a fortune on maternity bras. I do plan to BF so I know I'll be in a maternity bra for a while. And I know that I'll need good support. What did you do? Which of your bras were/are your favorites?

Re: Brag on your bra!

  • I love bras from Target. They're so comfy, and affordable.

  • I started out as 32 D and am now a 32 DD, target has great bras and reasonable prices! I'm also going to check Ross and Tj Maxx since DD are always out of stock in my size at target.

I don't understand this.  This is the exact reason you get cheap bras.  Why would you spend a ton of money on something that may not fit in a few weeks?

  • Galligan OMalley bras from.Target are awesome. I wore them before pregnancy and now I have bought a few new ones to help with my new bigger boobs. They were only $14.99 each and sooooo comfy. My SIL wore the nursing version and she loved them too.

I am originally a 32 DDD what size would i look for next ?? >-)
  • I've been wearing padded nursing camis for about a month now. They are so comfy and should be good for any growth. Great for around the house or under sweatshirts/tees. Maybe, get a few more supportive bras for work, going out, and such...
  • Blueeyedwife, The reason I don't want to get cheap bras is because my past experiences have led me to believe that cheap bras don't offer good support.

34D is the next size up from 32DD. I know because I lost weight and went down to a 32DD from 34D. Now, since my boobs are exploding, I am wearing my old 34D bras. Thank goodness I didn't toss them!

Omg im sorry i was half asleep when i wrote that im a 32 DDD originally

But i think you might have it backwards it goes from smaller to bigger. 32D 32 DD and 32 DDD, A 34DD Would be my sister size in bras which is the next closest size say u couldn't find your bra size. And unfortunately it's not always comfortable.

  • I got new ones from VS, since I jumped from a 32F to a 38DDD/F They have a semi-annual sale going on right now!

I never knew VS carried Fs !! My VS has a back wall with only DDDs. Did u order offline?

Price doesn't have anything to do with quality.  Bras go on sale.

    1) Get measured for a bra.
    2) Get a bra that fits.

No one here can tell you what size to get next.  Your breasts may have grown 4 cups, 2 bands, 1 cup, 0 bands, no one knows.

During my first pregnancy in the first 7 weeks I went from a 34D to 36DD.  That's a whole cup and band difference.  Jumping to a 34DD wouldn't have worked.  Nor would going to a 36D been much help.  And I got 2 cotton bras from Victoria Secret at the time.  Cheap.  But the same quality as my other VS bras.

@CFabretti‌ Measure yourself using this calculator https://www.brasizecalculator.tk/home.html to figure out what size you need.

An F and a DDD are basically the same from what I've been told. (That could be wrong, though) all I know is my boobs got huge, and a 38DDD there was the best fit we could find after a comical first fitting attempt (totally gave me the wrong size) and somentrial and error.
  • You just need to bite the bullet depending on how big your boobs have gotten.

I went from a 34DDD to a 34G in just the first 8 weeks. I bought 3 nice bras in a 36G giving me some room to grow but because I had a large bust to begin with, keeping back pain at bay was important.

I am still in them at week 16 and have some more room to fill out and adjust the band so for something you wear everyday the cost has been spread out a lot.

I will have to buy nursing bras later in the 3rd trimester, but its not worth being in pain in bras that don't fit. You can also go with sports bras for a cheaper alternative but make sure they don't squash your boobs!

  • I recently bought the genie Bra! Best thing I could have done! I am a 38c regularly and I am now just hitting second trimester. I got extra large and they stretch and support really well. 2 bras for 15.50.... They go up to 2x i think. Which is great as I will need a larger size soon!  You can not say how large you will get so spending tons to me does not make sense! Once I give birth I will get a nursing bra but util then it will be Genie all the way!
