Shopping Cart/High Chair Covers

So now that DD is sitting up enough I'm looking at shopping cart/high chair covers so I can stop carting her around in the bucket when possible.

Anyone have one to recommend?

I want this one on Amazon because I am cheap but some schmuck says it's terrible lol

Re: Shopping Cart/High Chair Covers

  • @clwheel I'm pretty sure that's the same one we have in a different pattern.  We were gifted it and haven't used it yet.

I wasn't sure when to stop using the car seat/stroller/carrier at the store and switch to the actual cart.  LO can sit up well but still falls over sometimes when he gets moving around.  Will the movement of the cart cause him to bounce around and fall over?  It would be so nice to put him in the cart.

  • That's why I was thinking of getting one of these. I feel like they hold them better? Maybe I'm still too early. Stupid bucket takes up so much of the cart...

  • We were gifted this one: https://buggybaggs.com/products/buggy-bagg-elite/

It is the balls. It zips up and is so easy to carry. I freaking love it.
  • Not sure how I always forget about the good ol' ebay... Headed there now :)

  • @clwheel‌, thanks for this thread. A high chair/cart cover is on my to do list.
  • Shopping is so much better now that DD can sit in the cart!!  We haven't been using a cover.  She literally doesn't move.  I don't know if its because I strap her in the cart so tight or that she is just amazed that I'm actually taking her out of the house.

@ashanne88 - the straps on the cart are pretty tight.  I feel like DD is secure in there and doesn't move much.  Not sure how crazy of a cart pusher you are though :)

  • I was just thinking about getting one of these. This weekend I took her grocery shopping in the cart and had to use a blanket to cover it, she enjoyed it but I felt it was a little insecure. I wanna wait a couple more weeks until we try it again, maybe then she'll be more stable.

  • It's not so much about the grossness. I guess I was thinking the cover would help her sit better? Maybe I'm making stuff up lol

Yeah, this is why I like ours. Otherwise he is slouched way down since he is too short and the awkward incline of carts doesn't help.
  • I use the one we were gifted with C because it had the toys and the buckle built in. I think its the infantino, it was from Target. It's also am extra layer between his bum and the cold cart (I get the closest cart to the car I can find because it's less wrangling two kids in a parking lot). I use my purse to prop up one side of him and reusable shopping bags on the other. Oddly, the Target carts have the worst angle for actually having him sit up halfway straight.

  • ^along with my cart cover, I mean

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • I also use my purse and maybe a blanket rolled up or something to help him, though he's getting better at sitting up without the extra help. I haven't been too worried about the grossness... Mostly because it's so cold and he's so bundled up, his skin literally doesn't touch anything. Maybe I'll feel differently in the spring/summer... Are these a PITA to use? How do you wrangle one on while holding the baby/your purse/whatever else?

I'll just add pop tarts and whole grain pasta to my grocery list and I'll be set!  ;)

  • We ended up getting this one today. So far so good it has a lap harness which is nice. We rigged it a little bit so that the straps for the seat harness looped through the metal as well to keep her a little more upright.
