BFest Monday

Re: BFest Monday

  • I've had a migraine/pounding headache since midnight. I have a theory that its the wine causing my headaches lately. I've had a headache every night for the 3 nights I drank this wine, but it doesn't start til middle of the night.

  • The hose to the fridge busted last night so we had a mess in the kitchen last night and now have no water in the kitchen. And the plumbing place we go to said they can't be here till the end of the week :(

I start working from home tomorrow. My computer is all set up but I need the IT guy to call me to connect me to the network. I also need to drive to the office later to pick up the phone I'm going to be using. I can't stand sitting here having no idea when this guy is going to call. LO is napping now, I'm trying to pump (and barely getting anything), I need to shower and still need to finish taking my tree and the rest of the Xmas decorations down! Ughhh, please ring phone, riiiiightttt.....NOW!

Damnit. No ringy dingy for me!

Update: haha, he sent me an email 50 minutes ago saying he could call me now.  I finished pumping, took my dogs out and now I'm waitinggggg....LO is still napping. Maybe he is at lunch?  I sure do wish he would call me riiiiiggghhtttt....NOW!

    Nope. Still no ringy dingy.

Another update: He just emailed and wants to call at 2:00.  Booo.  Now I can only wait and I'm sure LO will wake right before he calls and have a meltdown and all will suck!  Oh well.  I hope I can still use FB and browse some Perez Hilton again once he sets me up!

Yet another update: 2:04 pm tick tick tick, let's do this, buddy!

@NewMomma8‌ , don't wipe! Dab it clean, find a barrier cream with dimethicone and lay it on really thick: dimethicone, zinc, vaseline.
This is so much easier said than done for me....I can't seem to get the hang of just dabbing & getting all the poop off. So I switch to wet paper towels (really, really wet) instead of wipes during rashes. T only seems to get them when he's on antibiotics, otherwise aquafor has been great for us.
I never dab, I wash his bum in the sink and let it air dry (blow dryer on cold during winter) and the reaply the cream
My daughter had crazy bad diaper rash - we even had to take her to a pediatric dermatologist. We would end up doing lots of diaper-free time (in the evening mostly). It wasn't always pretty but helped. And cloth diapers ended up being the big help.

I swear by cloth diapers, ihle's butt paste and wash cloths with warm water instead of wipes. LO has had one diaper rash in 9 months and it was a day of disposables and wipes at a wedding.

  • I'm not used to having a warranty on my cars, so last winter I thought nothing of it and went to Sam's club for a new battery. Now a component of my on star isn't working, and the dealership claims the battery was put in wrong and fried the on star. I highly doubt a battery put in in Feb messed up the on star in October. So now they won't fix it under warranty. I HATE dealerships and I will never pay for an extended warranty again.

  • @newmomma8 Babycaps basically has you covered.  But if this happens on antibiotics all the time, it might be yeast related.  So you might want to look at using probiotics along with the antibiotics next time. :)

  • I started student teaching and my period today. And I only got three hours of sleep. Yay teething.
  • Ladies with baby butt issues, we swear by putting mineral/baby oil on the wipes or use it on cotton pads to wipe their bottoms with during a change. It's soothing to their butts and doesn't create friction that causes them pain.
  • Fighting the butt rash to!! Praying she doesn't poop in her sleep tonight since she literally pooped right before her night time bath. I think this is teething related she is getting her 8th tooth!!

I plan to get the a&d babycaps recommended tomorrow (hubby's out of town so I didn't make it tonight) I really hope my grocery store has it.
How does Aquaphor or Vasaline on top of desitin help?

My lo fought the desitin today too so sad :(
Happy to have my mil here tomorrow so she doesn't have to go to daycare that way I can have her do bum washes and no diaper time.

My bfest is I hardly pumped anything today!!! Only 8/9 oz and I am usually around 15. Still on my period and still sick so I really think that it is affecting my supply big time!

I think that lo is also starting to wean...at night she barely nurses which makes me sad I was kinda hoping to keep nursing at night past a year with her.

  • Other than that for once I don't have anything else to bitch about cause I just had amazing sex for the first time since April!!

Jumped the gun a bit. (Lol, pun intended)
Didn't you want to wait a year?
  • Add us to the rash club! Thankfully the desitin is working for us

Also, just wanted to add that I'm the horrible mom who is unprepared.  I searched the house for Vaseline and apparently we don't have any.  :(  The A&D went on pretty easy with no cringes, so I'll keep using that and get Vaseline today.

I never used Vaseline when I had DD. she never really got rashes so the couple times she did we used Desitin. Otherwise she needed a prescription.
