Re: Twin Mom Check in 1/3
1. How far along are you? 13wks 4days
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically: still so tired, some nausea but more good days then bad. Emotionally: I don't feel as connected to this pregnancy as I did with my first. I'm hoping once we find out the sex and pick names I'll start to bond more.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates? Nothing new this week. Impatiently wait for our 16 week U/S to hopefully find out the sex.
4. Any rants/raves this week? After a week surrounded by a stomach virus at work and DH & DS home sick with colds and fevers, I am grateful to just have a stuffy nose.
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy? Best advise: try and relax, add in protein when you can and don't forget that ice cream has both calcium and protein in it. (I love my OB) Worst advise: you need to eat chicken liver and stay off your feet (co-worker)
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Physically: ok, tired and still have all day sickness.
Emotionally: pretty good dressing about our move that's coming up.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates?
I just had my NT scan and I see my OB again on Monday.
4. Any rants/raves this week?
Rants: none... Raves: going to a hockey game today, so I'm looking forward to being out.
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy?
I can't think of any advise... But I'm tired of everyone telling my my hands are going to be full with twins... Or that I have no idea what im in for...
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Emotionally irritated (see rant), physically- tired... ALL. THE. TIME.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates? Just had an appointment yesterday for updates on the fluid sac.. EVERYTHING IS BETTER! But now my doc thinks I have placenta previa, but won't worry about it until 5M.
4. Any rants/raves this week? RANT: I'm so sick of being the dd for my husband and friends. Just because I can't/won't drink doesn't mean I want to cart your drunk and obnoxious asses around!! It has been every single weekend. Last night was the worst. We went to a brewery over an hour away and I had to drive everyone around. I will not be able to handle 7 more months of this. I blew up at hubby last night.
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy?
Worst- try not to stress and get your emotions in check. I know my mom was trying to help, however, my emotions are completely out of wack and I can't control them. And how can I not stress?? I'm going to be a FTM and have twins??
1.) How far along? We are 12 Weeks and 6 Days
2.)How are you feeling physically/emotionally? It really depends on the day and the moment. All of our other pregnancies I was never really sick unless I waited too long to eat this one has been rough, practically carrying a trash can around every other day. Emotionally I have been a roller coaster, finding out your having twins is extremely exciting and scary all in one, we are still in so much shock!
3.)Any Dr. Appts or updates? Our Dr. Appt yesterday, finding out we are expecting twins
4.)Any rants/raves? Not too much other than excitement!
1. How far along are you? 13w
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Emotionally I've been a mess this week because we've announced not only the pregnancy, but also that we're moving out of state. So much happiness and sadness happening at once. Physically I am feeling pretty good this week, just exhausted by the end of the day and still hungry all the time.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates? Had a great NT scan on Tuesday, low risk for birth defects and babies were both measuring nearly a week ahead.
4. Any rants/raves this week? Just feeling so thankful for everything happening in our life, even the stressful stuff because in the end it's all going to be worth it.
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy? I am so over hearing people say "you're going to have your hands full" or "double trouble." Sigh.
2. Feeling - emotionally, still a little in shock, and I imagine it will be like that until they are here. Physically, the nausea is slowing getting better but now I have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth and although I haven't felt flutters yet, 1 or both of them attacked me last night when I had to sneeze. (It scared me so much the sneeze went away too.)
3. Appointments/updates- we had an appointment yesterday and both babies are doing great. Baby B gave us an adorable profile shot and is laying on top of Baby A, who turned his/her back to us and stuck a hand behind its head to strike a pose. Both were also playing with their feet.
4. Rants/raves - none really.
QOTW: My cousin has triplets so she showed me around their house this week and showed me how they had things set up when the girls were babies. She also gave me a book but said the most useful thing she got out of it was to call the insurance company to ensure they would cover an elective c-section.
Feeling: Physically still a little nauseous and tired but I think (hope) they are lessening
Emotionally: I'm a little nervous-things w/H have been tense @ best. He has been working a lot but that doesn't excuse his behavior towards me & makes me nervous thinking about what he will be like when the twins come :-< I'm trying not to freak out too much & he is going to go talk to someone next week about his abhorrent behavior so hopefully we're on our way to a better place.
Appts: 16 week ultrasound on 1/20--my MIL & H are coming with me...I can't wait to see the babies again. We got the results of the NT blood test a couple of days ago & everything looks good so I'm really happy.
Rants/Raves: Rants-trying to make room in our smallish room for two babies to sleep & live is trickier than I originally thought
Raves: Not gagging as much and feeling good about being in my 2nd trimester yay!!!
QOTW: I haven't really gotten any advice yet--just like previous posters--getting a lot of "you're going to be so busy when the babies come" but I'm also sick of "hopefully you'll have a boy & a girl so you can be done" and "you are going to get so big" <---for freakin real? How helpful is that?! I try and smile and nod while telling people to back off in my head-unless you have some insight stfu
I am 11 weeks pregnant as of today. This is my second pregnancy, I currently have an 11 month old boy
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Physically I get really tired and I have to take a lot of breaks when I'm cooking and cleaning the house. Emotionally I have mood swings every now and then but other than that I'm really excited about my twins.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates? I have a Dr. Appointment on Jan. 12 and they might be able to tell me the gender of the babies.
4. Any rants/raves this week? No - this week has been really good since I pretty much slept the whole time
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy?
The best advice I have been given is to stay calm, relax and really just get to know my body and be one with myself and my babies. I've also been extremely dehydrated so water is now my best friend.
Hi everyone! Happy Monday!
1. How far along are you? 12w6d

2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Physically: tired. I have been having insomnia after waking up at 2am to pee and can't fall back to sleep. I can feel my ute growing and been having some left side pains. Nausea is better, heartburn is better. I have my good and bad days. DH has been out all weeking with plowing/salting which makes him a "joy" to be around. Emotionally: getting a little "blue". I am not sure if it is the upcoming snow storm or the hormones. I have been really stressing about finances b/c as of right now, we can't afford day care for twins and DH has no desire to stay home.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates? I have my first MFM appointment on 1/12. I am not sure if I want to do the NT scan. My OB brought it up at 8 weeks and I told her I didn't know what it was so lets hold off. I guess I will email her to ask if we can tack it onto 1/12. The results won't change anything for us, but it would be nice to know so my Type-A OCD self could plan if we are high risk.
4. Any rants/raves this week? Nothing really. Thankfully, the bleeding has stopped.
bnk2012 , I have been getting the "It would be great if you'll have a boy & a girl so you can be done" comment alot. So my response is "wow I didn't realize that you were psycic and making my future reproductive decisions for me. Can you tell me when my constipation will end too?". Then I walk away. Oh and I have gotten the "well I babysat twins when I was in high school (15 years ago!) so I can tell you xyz". I even got a "better you than me" and I said "well obviously" and walked away. Sorry, if you can't tell, I am kinda sarcastic
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Still having quite a bit of morning sickness. Hoping that subsides soon. I really didn't think I was going to have to get another refill on my Zofran, but I'm thinking I might have to.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates? I go in to see my OB the 22nd and then see my Peri 2 weeks later for my anatomy scan. So no updates!
4. Any rants/raves this week? Yeah....Why do we have to get so spoiled that we get 3 short weeks for holidays within a month of eachother and then not get another holiday for like 5 months. Come on now. That's just cruel
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy? It hasn't been so much specific advice as people telling me how I'm going to have to change my life because of the twins. "Oh there's no way you both can continue working." "Oh you're never going to get to go out ever again." "You're never going to get to take a vacation again." Well....sorry you feel that way....but we're well aware of the sacrifices we will be making for our future children, and we in no way plan on becoming hermits who can't work or socialize with other adult humans because we had said children. But thanks

2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Physically I have a little pain, but there are 2 babies in there lol. emotionally im still worried ab the blood. Woke up this morning to red blood & after the dr checked me out i had red blood gush out when i got back home. Seems to be easing up though.
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates?
Had an appoinment this morning. Heard babies' heart beats. Dr said everything looks normal just unexplained bleeding.
4. Any rants/raves this week?
Wish I knew the exact reason for the bleeding! Raves-Dh has been so helpful!
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy?
Best is get them on the same schedule so you'll have time to sleep lol. Otherwise same as other twin moms to be, double trouble, going to have my hands full, I'm going to be so big! Yep I know these already! Lol
2. Physically I'm still so tired all the time and have started to have some round ligament pains. Emotionally I'm excited and completely jumped on the fact I'm having twins.
3. Had my NT scan last week and got the results everything came back great both babies are low risk. I see my OB on Friday but don't think I'm going to get a ultrasound.
4. Rant, at my NT scan they wouldn't even look at the sex. Rave, has to be DH he has officially taken over all grocery shopping, so happy I don't have to do it anymore.
Best advice, put them both on the same schedule and stick to it.
Worest, a co worker ask me where they natural, which I answered you mean like organic, she didn't know what to say after that and I happily got called away.
ktaylor8385 - I am so sorry you are dealing with some bleeding. I have been having this problem on/off since October. My OB said as long as I am not filling a maxi pad within an hour, then I am OK and shouldn't stress. Well easier said then done! Stay strong
lizb7 - I also got asked if they were natural. I said well I don't think they are monkeys! I am going to use your come back too!
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally?
Physically I have been feeling a little better overall-- less nausea and vomiting! Yay! Headaches and fatigue are my main symptoms. I did have some brown spotting a few days ago and went in for an US... All looked good. I also have been very lightheaded and black out at times, Dr said it's low blood pressure. Emotionally allowing myself to get more excited and believe this is really happening!
3. Any Dr. appointments or updates?
Has NT in Christmas Eve and came back low risk. That scan was with MFM and I really liked the doctor there. And as mentioned was seen lady Friday for spotting/sharp pain and babies looked great... Nice and wiggly
4. Any rants/raves this week?
Rant is how challenging work has been ... 12 hour shifts on my feet all day in a busy hospital make me want to cry the night before I have to go in for my shifts. I know I need to suck it up, but man, it's rough!
Question of the week: What's the best and/or worst advise you have been given since finding out about your twin pregnancy?
Lots of twin moms we know have been so reassuring that we can handle this... Which is great to hear!
Hope everyone is having a good Monday!
2. How are you feeling physically and emotionally?: fatigue is still an issue but emotions are definitely more on check
3. Any Dr appts or updates?: just had our first appointment and ultrasound on Friday so we also just found out we are having twins. Next appointment and Ultrasound is Jan 30.
4. Rants/raves: I am a twin and it was still a surprise that I'm expecting twins. When we announced this to friends this weekend they acted as if I should have "known" before the appt or ultrasound..
Question of the week: now that we've announced its twins, the advice has tapered off haha (Except from my parents who know first hand on raising twins).
Please. Advice from other twin mommies.
As for your MIL, the right thing would be to talk to her but that doesn't always work. The smart ass in me wants to tell you when she does it again to rub her belly and say its weird and uncomfortable isn't it and walk away from her while she is still in shock.
LindseyLewis91011 - So I am all about being a smart ass to strangers or to people I don't see regularly, even coworkers. However, you have to be careful with MIL b/c she will be a huge help (assuming so) once the babies are here. So, depending on your relationship with her, I would nicely point out that something about all the first tri side effects and how you are really bloated, constipated, etc (lie if you have to) and that even the thought of touching your stomach makes you want to gag. Then if she tries, just say something, oh please don't, I feel so sick. Then have your DH have a nice convo with her about personal space. I had this convo with both my mom and MIL but just said straight up, I feel like Sh*t, please dont touch me. I will invite you when I am ready to rub my belly. And I am really looking forward to when the babies are kicking and I can invite them to feel and rub. But right now, stay away!
bnk2012 - some people are just so ignorant and rude. It is no different then being asked "why don't you have kids yet". I think people just have no filter when it comes to families. If you don't want to be a smart ass, you could just respond something like "why do you ask?" or "does it matter if we did or didn't". I actually had a girl at work ask me if IF was the reason my DH and I didn't have kids. I asked why and she started telling me about her IF journey and was looking for support. Now we have a great working friendship because we bonded over IF. Just some thoughts.
steen9713 - congrats!!!!! I love seeing them. Baby A is always chilling and baby B is always wiggling around. I have been having pain on my left side (baby b) side so I am convienced baby B is a boy and already causing trouble LOL
