I just got a strange call from my boss, who left the building to call me. He was letting me know that another manager got a promotion, wondering if I'd heard yet and hoping I hadn't. He seemed to think I'd be angry but I'm a little in the dark. I return next week and have a meeting with the plant manager and HR to discuss my new responsibilities. Basically this guy, Mr L, is ditching his current responsibilities to be divided amongst me and someone else " mr.H" who also got a promotion. So given my bosses tone ( he seemed distressed by this) I assume I'm getting screwed with more work and no promotion/raise like the men got. It's no secret in my workplace that women have to work 3x harder for barely equal footing. There is 1female manager and now 6 men. So my boss was giving me a heads up basically. I'm trying to decide why he was so upset, must think I'm being discriminated against because of my leave. I've no clue how to handle this meeting. I wNt to ask hard questions that's for sure but short of getting myself fired or making accusations I'm not sure. My record is stellar and I've made major accomplishments in the last year and clearly my boss thinks I'm getting screwed. Ugh. God I wish my dad was alive, times like this are the worst.
