No sleep.....

DH snores so bad :( I already have a hard time going to sleep. Between trying to relax, the pain of carrying a child-that which never sits still, and a 3 year old.... I'm a walking zombie. I've considered knocking him out cold.

Re: No sleep.....

  • I'm sitting up. Thinking about sleeping because I have to work tomorrow and I can't sleep and when I read your post I just started cracking up. Sorry OP you probably weren't trying to be funny, but I can't stop laughing. =))
  • Loading the player...
  • I feel horrible like when you laugh at someone when they fall down. I want a gif of you knocking him out.
  • Haha it's ok to laugh :) he swears he doesn't snore, that I'M the one who snores. He's dumb.
  • I am on night two of no sleep. I am so delirious, I was actually thinking of inventing a microwave with a silent door and silent alarm. It pisses me off that every time I want a snack, the microwave announces it!
  • I am in the same exact boat tonight. Except mine has a habit of rolling over on me too...he works hard so I usually just go sleep on the couch but ughhh, its really hard not get mad even though I know hes not doing it on purpose.
  • I make mine sleep on his side. Seriously it's gotten sooooo (yes all the extra letters are necessary) bad over the last few months. I have actually thrown a pillow on his face and it did nothing. I've taken to kicking him or pushing him. Nudging does NOT work with him...

  • Before DH got his cpap machine he snored SO loud. Making him sleep on his belly helped, and me wearing ear plugs helped. Just be careful with ear plugs- wear them too long and you may get a constant ringing in your ears. It happened to me but luckily went away after a few annoying days.
  • I am not above taking a sleep aid when I just NEED sleep. It has saved my sanity more than once.

  • I do nudge him. Which ends with me punching him in the back or arm. Or I just kick him bc he sleeps so hard lol I ended up sleeping on the couch. Our couch is super comfy. He did ask this morning if I loved bc of him. He apologized. I laugh about it most days. It could be A LOT worse :)
  • I made mine get breathe right strips they are magical:)
  • I don't know what sleep is anymore! Lol... a thing of the past.. Insomnia was a lovely 3rd trimester gift. Hubby does snore, but its my achy back and restless legs that keep me up for days. I kinda don't even notice his snoring now that I'm so irritated about my legs. I'm actually surprised that he doesn't wake up from my arranging of all 50 pillows on the bed every 10 minutes, or me knocking stuff off the nightstand as I try to plug in electric heating pads and massage pads, or the constant crumpling of Luna bar wrappers, crackers, chips... Etc. *sigh* well at least we're all close! Third trimester yay!!! I'll be snoring at birth possibly if I can't get a couple nights in of rest! Lol. Good luck with your sleep! I'll be thinking about you tonight while I'm tossing and turning!
  • I can relate. My DH snores SO loud and normally I can deal with it but between waking up 5x a night to pee, waking up because of acid reflux, waking up because my 3yr old is sneaking in the bed, and not being able to sleep on my stomach anymore I am a zombie these days. Thank goodness for coffee (yes I still drink coffee.. I'm a rebel like that.. Lol)

I now have the song "no sleep till Brooklyn" stuck in my head. :)

Lol! My daughters name is Brooklyn and when she was a newborn I would sing a modified version of that song during sleepless nights. Lol

This is what I thought when I read it. My husband snores when he's really tired, I usually have to budge him a lot to get him to roll over or to shut up. Last night I think I kept him up because I could not get comfortable and then waking up at 4, jet leg sucks.

  • Haha I'm up right now 4am and just wide awake. I seriously go through this every night. My husband is deployed so don't have to worry about snoring and all that good stuff waking me up. Idk if I am wide wake bc of the baby or because I get to text him at 4am because he's awake. Either way I cannot fall back to sleep!
  • I'm awake at 4:30 am for no apparent reason. My husband is working out of town so snoring isn't the cause. Although, I had insomnia before I became pregnant, now it's a billion times worse. Either way maybe I'll be awake in time for breakfast today! Yum, cinnamon rolls!
  • Might as well get used to not sleeping much! Lol! But in all honesty, a little nudge might just be necessary!
  • Fell asleep around 8, woke up at 9 with a massive headache then again at 11. Fell asleep at 12:30, but 10 minutes later woke up legitimately choking on bile and ran to the bathroom and puked/coughed till I could breathe again. Tried using pillows to prop my head up but it feels weird to me. Then up at 3 to kids crying for no reason then starting day at 5:30 cause one of them wet the bed. It's going to be one of those days.
  • Try asking him to roll onto his left side. Don't know if you've tried this but it works with my husband, at least long enough for me to fall asleep!

I know how frustrating that can be, hope you get some sleep soon!?

  • I feel your pain....I honestly thought about punching my husband last night while he was snoring, that's how desperate I was. haha. I have been going out to sleep on the couch, but then he feels guilty and comes out to be with me, which is just counter-productive....haha....I am exhausted.

  • DH's snoring has gotten worse the last few months too!  His dad has a cpap machine, so that is likely in his future but he doesn't want to see a doctor in case they make him use one.

So far nasal strips help keep the snoring quiet enough I can sleep for the most part, as long as he's sleeping mostly on his tummy.  When he has a cold and it's worse, I kick him to the couch and he goes fairly voluntarily.

I wish I was better at drowning out noises...I'm such a picky sleeper thanks to growing up with my own room and a boring family! lol

  • If H isn't snoring, PF is waking in the middle of the night, 2.0 is kicking me in the bladder, or I'm having fucked up dreams. Sleep is a thing of the past. I miss it.
