Ummm, that 18 week video is ridiculous

I'm sure a lot of you watch the weekly videos on here of the baby's progress. So please tell me how only 2 weeks ago many people haven't even felt the first flutters, and now at 18 weeks, they show a clip of baby moving so much that can be easily seen on the outside. My first was a mover and groover, but I definitely wasn't seeing those alien belly rolls until much much much later on. 18 weeks?! I call BS on the bump.

On a side note, I can't even freaking believe I am already 18 weeks. Nuts!! Almost halfway...totally crazy.

  • I'm 17 weeks 6 days and literally started seeing outside movement today. I watched the 18 week video early and scoffed; today comes and I'm in total shock.

Seriously?! That's crazy!! So awesome though, but I just can't even imagine. Maybe a little flicker or something, but that roll was pretty big in the video. Enjoy seeing all those wiggles :x I'm just a little jealous ;)

My heart almost burst out of my chest! I called my husband from downstairs on the phone because I didn't want to move/talk too loud and he saw it too, was a nice moment. It definitely isn't like the video, they're the quickest little thumps right now.

I was just saying the other day it'd be a few weeks before anything like that would happen, and then voila! It's crazy to think we're nearly half way there! Hope you get baby thumps soon! :-)
  • Yeah 18 weeks here too. I rolled my eyes at most of the clips, especially the 'bumps' pictures they show because honestly I think some of them are farther along than the advertised week. I mean seriously one looked like she was 25 weeks already.

Are you talking about the pictures in the video? They all looked believable enough to me. Everyone's different, right?

I'm 18 weeks and I got my baby moving on video yesterday it was amazing I tried posting it on here but it wasn't letting me! :(

ETA: wait... I just watched the bumps video and the video I took looked nothing like that! Lol, just looked like he was kicking

  • Haha. Just watched it and it seems a little crazy. The Polaroid photos look legit, but the other photos just looked like stock photography so the video editor probably has no idea how far those women are, just wanted a side-sleeper and a hydrated yoga mom.

I did the same thing... Lol! I showed DH and was like I have no bump and look at these women on this video!

  • I have a friend who posted a video last week of her baby moving at 18 weeks. Totally looked like an alien moving around in there. Here's the kicker. She's like a Sz negative 0. Tiny tiny thing. So baby doesn't have much space to be hidden. And she's all baby. Hasn't gained weight any where else. So my Sz 16 plump ass will wait a long time before I ever see outside movement. But she gets the crazy cool stuff now.
  • I stopped watching those videos maybe 4 weeks back... they were showing bumps that look like they are 3-4 weeks further along than mine - it was getting me worried.. so I just decided not to watch it anymore so I will stop driving myself crazy
  • From the movements I've been feeling, my baby is not that far up yet... =/

The Polaroids look mostly legit, but the other bumps they show sometimes don't look accurate.
  • That

I watched the video and my mind went immediately to this:

That is more of what we will look like at 30+weeks ;)

I side eye a lot the bump says about symptoms and also the weekly checklists like "how pregnant do you people think I am?" Slow your roll bump. I'm just excited to feel my flutters.
I'm still waiting to feel my flutters. :( I'm so far behind most of this group.) :(
None here (15w5d) either!  I get to ask my dr about my anterior placenta and when she thinks I'll feel things tomorrow.

None here yet at 19 weeks. I don't think you're far behind... today is the first day I've seen a bunch of people saying they have felt things.

  • I am with OP. Today is my change day, so every Monday we watch the videos together. (We also watch whattoexpect.com)

He saw the hand movement in the video and look at me excitedly...I said oh no honey it will be awhile til you see or feel that.
