Kitchen gadgets

I'm a huge fan of Pampered Chef, I've got a few pieces and love pretty much all of it. My favorite is the picture below, it's for chopping stuff like ground beef in a frying pan. Do you have any kitchen gadgets/appliance that you absolutely love? Or what is something that was a waste of money?

Re: Kitchen gadgets

  • My MIL got me this little purple plastic thing that's about the length of a spoon or fork. It's used to peel the skin from oranges. I absolutely love it. No idea where she got it or cost but it couldn't had been much. One side slices the peel and the other side pulls the peel away from the fruit.

  • @jag101‌ I have one of those and love it! My crock pot and cuisin are kitchen mixer are by far my favorite kitchen items.

I try to make a crock pot dinner at least once a week, such a time saver! I use the mixer for so much. Pizza dough, cookies and other desserts, I love it!

  • Jag, that mix n chop is a lifesaver! I have a bunch of PC stuff, but my fave is their apple wedger. I don't know how I ever lived without it. I've had similar products by other manufacturers I just didn't like as much or that broke quickly. We love sliced apples at the Rocks house. (A close second is the ice cream scoop.)

Something I bought that I thought was kind of a waste of space and money: Meat tenderizer. It was a wedding gift. I registered for it because my parents both had one in their kitchens, but now that I have it, I've realized I never saw either of them use theirs, and I used mine for the first time last weekend, though I think it was rather unnecessary. My recipe said to pound the chicken breast thin, but I think slicing it thinner would have been less messy and equally effective.

My h would disagree with you about pounding meat! It tenderizes the meat and can sometimes make a HUGE difference!!

I have a tomato slicer that I bought on a whim. You can slice the whole tomato in one swoop. I love it.

Space waster is probably this little herb chopper I bought thinking it would be so great...it sucks. It doesn't chop well and all the herbs stick deep in the blades.

  • I just got a nutribullet for christmas and i am obsessed. Literally have used it almost every day.  I also love my garlic press. So much better than chopping!
  • I just bought a mandolin slicer over the weekend. I make salads for the whole week for lunches and it usually takes a while. This thing is awesome, I sliced up the veggies so quickly

@bf43005 OMG I thought I was the only one in the world who had one of these!!! Mine is yellow and I might die if I ever lose it. :) It's also safe enough for my 8yr to use herself, which I love.

  • I love my pastry cutter. I use it mash up/cut avocado for guacamole as much as I use it to cut butter into flour!

  • I LOVE my Ninja Kitchen System! It works great as a chopper or as a blender for making smoothies or pureeing soups. I'm currently breastfeeding and combine a frozen banana, oats, berries, Greek yogurt, and almond milk in it almost every morning for a lactation-friendly breakfast smoothie. I hope it works well for making baby food in the future! :)
