Brigham & Womens fertility costs?

Hey all,

We don't have IF coverage and are in need of a consult and testing.

Boston IVF quoted us $350 for the consult, $1000 for the HSG, and $150 for each blood test. I can get a thyroid test during my annual and have that covered, but I'm assuming there are several blood levels taken. I'm estimating this cost around $2k.

Brigham quoted us $434 for a consult plus $150-$250 billed by the hospital plus $650 for the HSG. There was no quote on the blood tests but I'm assuming another $700+ or so.

My fear with Brigham is that each test will come with an additional hospital bill (like with the consult), which will result in costs that far exceed Boston IVF.

Any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks!

7/3: Metabolic clinic gave the green light to TTC - holy crap!

    Go to fertility solutions they are much cheaper and nicer. Also most of the blood work should be covered by insurance. I just had my obgyn draw it.

    Don't know a ton about cost, but BWH was great. Very attentive and informative. They do have a financial consultant to speak with, not sure if you've done that yet.
    Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.
