September 2015 Moms

So who here wasn't planning on being here?

Nothing makes me happier than to see so many women be so excited to be here!  Which is why I joined so maybe some of your excitement can rub off on me lol!

I have 3 daughters and was a surrogate for my Aunt, gave birth to another beautiful girl in February 2014.  We did not do anything permanent in regards to birth control because we weren't sure how we would feel after being a surrogate.  I decided I did not want to have any more and we were waiting til tax season to start the process of getting DH snipped.

DH and I took advantage of a rare evening without the kids and I noticed something was def not right.  Condom didn't look broken but, tmi, post-sex clean up was alot messier than it should of been. Next morning I ran out and took Plan B.

Turns out Plan B should be named Plan FAIL and I got my first very faint BFP Christmas morning.  Period was due the 29th and it never showed, tested again and yeah, very bright BFP.

So here I am!  Super freaked out!  I am 31 and DH is 30, I am going back to school this month to finish my degree and we now have to buy a mini van that we probably can't afford lol

I am hoping for another girl this time because I can parent girls on auto pilot.  Our whole world is revolved around girls. Even my surro baby was a girl. Plus my womb seems to do natural gender selection and doesn't seem to carry boys haha.  DH obviously wants a boy.

So lets hear your story!

Re: So who here wasn't planning on being here?

  • I was NTNP (wanted a baby but wasn't ready to do the work. It was my first month off the pill :) ) this time but I was definitely not planning on DS 4 years ago. It was a huge adjustment I wasn't really ready for.

How far do you have left for your degree? I was taking classes when DS was born and had to take a break. But he was my first.

  • I was not expecting to be here until fall 2015. I was having super short luteal phases that couldn't sustain a pregnancy, so we were not all that careful at the beginning of my fertile window. I'm not upset really, but I was somewhat surprised at first.

  • *raises hand!* ME!!!! DH was snipped on 12/19 and as a JOKE I took a pregnancy test Christmas Eve to put in his stocking. Much to my surprise a few hours later when I went to wrap it it was positive! I figured it was because it was passed the time to read it. NOPE after about 5 more tests they're all positive.
I was a wreck cried off and on for a week. DH said "well at least we won't have 4!"

Anyways! CONGRATS!!!!!!! Everything happens for a reason :-)

CrissCross, I only have a year of college under my belt.  So I am going for my associates first which is just a year more, and then my bachelors if I am feeling really motivated LOL!

Olive, holy moly!  That means you would of had to of gotten pregnant before the snip right?  Because if you got the BFP Christmas Eve, the 19th or later would of been too late!  That is crazy!! haha

  • I definitely wasn't planning on being here! At least, not yet! After a MC 2 years ago, they found a small fibroid. I didn't think anything of it until this past Oct when we experienced our second loss. They found that the fibroid had grown to 9-10cm, and I was told by my obgyn to wait to TTC until we took care of the fibroid (was waiting for my HCG to drop to 0 to schedule an MRI and eventual myomectomy). I finally had a horrible first cycle post-MC in November, and was planning to make it my January goal to get this whole fibroid thing taken care of when I realized I was almost a week late. Christmas morning surprise, BFP! Happy and just hoping for a healthy 9 months now. I don't think I'm letting myself get too excited until the first appointment, though. I'm looking at it the same way - everything happens for a reason!

  • Definitely had not planned on being here. At the end of October I had to have a small emergency surgery to have my IUD removed because it had imbedded and caused damage to my cervix. I didn't have a real period after, just on and off bleeding and poor DH wasn't getting much but when he did, he made it count. I was assured it would be a bit for my cycle to regulate but low and behold we got a positive test on 12/30. I'm extremely nervous because I don't know the damage to my cervix and I'm at a higher risk for miscarriage. We aren't telling family until we're through the first trimester.

I'm also in grad school now and in the process of getting my PMP CERT. That b*tch takes 3 years of 4800 hours of project management work plus this life sucking post graduate course to even qualify to sit for the exam. I just want to get it done before baby #2 comes or else I have no idea when I'll ever have the time to do it.
  • Excited to be here, but definitely wasn't planning to be here so soon. I am also 31, with 3 girls! :) we had talked about number 4 but weren't actively trying.. But here we are!
  • Lada, Wow, awesome Christmas present!!!

Emmy, those IUD's are the devil.  I am so sorry that you went through that.  I had an IUD also, Paraguard. I had it for 2 years before I rushed myself to the doctor with horrible pain and heavy bleeding.  Even though they confirmed my IUD was in place, they also confirmed an etopic pregnancy in my left tube, I was 6 weeks along.  They had to induce a miscarriage, it was horrible. Never again!

  • @OliverSweet‌ thanks. I had Paragard too and was loving it until that point. My cervix was surgically cut during DS's birth (no fluid and pressure on the cord stopping his heart rate. I had to be cut so a nurse could get her hand in and relieve pressure on my way in for my emergency CS.). I'm just afraid the old gal has been through too much. I'm really hopeful though because the doc assured me after my CS everything was healed and then again after the IUD removal. I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. Any MC is just devastating. Good luck to you this time as well!!!
  • I'm happy but did not plan on getting pregs for another year or so. My first is 15 months. Still nursing and cosleeping. I'm a little sad/guilty because I'm not sure he will be ready to share mommy. Also not sure I'm ready to give up my alone time with my baby. My husband is absolutely over the moon though.

  • We were trying, hopes weren't high because we had a loss last month & hadn't had AF yet - but with temping & tracking, we got very lucky & are so happy to be here!

  • I has a loss in October and was trying desperately after my cycle in November and it didn't work. This cycle we were NTNP and I am super shocked!

  • Was not planning on being here. Still a little in shock maybe? We had been trying but had decided to was off and try later in the year. Tested today New Years Eve because I had a feeling and am pretty regular but got a negative, tested today 5 days late and got a positive.

I'm a little freaked out because we weren't expecting it/I prepped myself for waiting but also super super excited! This is our first!

Yep.. Funny part is I'm pretty sure I got pregnant the same exact day as ai did with my daughter only 4 years ago! Crazy! Feeling better about it now and looking forward to it... Kinda :-)

I felt that way towards the end of my pregnancy with DS. I was afraid I wouldn't have enough time, love, or energy for DD anymore. I think now it's more rewarding. I can have alone time with both of them. But, it makes it harder to say no when she wants to come snuggle in our bed!

  • Waving hand in the air!!!! We are a blended family with 5 kids. The oldest 8, the youngest 3yr old boys. I actually had my appt scheduled to get my tubes tied. But guess when you gain weight rapidly in 4 months your bc is no longer affective. My fiancee is thrilled and so I am with bouts of absolute terror!! We are keeping this quiet, cuz neither of our families will be supportive and I really don't need that added stress. We are also on the hunt for an 8 passenger vehicle and a 4 bedroom house. No pressure at all. Lol tie into that and I'm currently planning a wedding for 2016, which is what everyone talks about since we haven't told anyone about baby. Did I mention we just finished giving away EVERY single baby item we owned. Including the crib. I secretly starting buying stuff this week. Haha
I try not to worry and look at the blessing, or I'll go nuts ;)
  • I definatly wasn't planning on having a baby just yet! I'm only 18 and after mum asked me to leave home I moved in with my boyfriend and his family, although I was on the pill I had been ill and it became uneffective and now I'm two months pregnant with my first baby!
  • Me!! I currently have no insurance (which makes this all the more scary!) although I do have a decent job I just haven't found a plan that makes it worth while. My SO and I are trying to decide if we should just get married or not ( we also have a 2 year old together that was the result of failed birth control). I could have used a few more months to figure everything out.
  • I definitely wanted to be here!!  We've been trying since April 2014 and this was the best way to start 2015!
  • I am very excited to be here, but wasn't necessarily planning to be here.  I have tried keeping the mind set that when it is meant to happen it will even though after experiencing an early loss made that very difficult.

  • Very very surprised to be here.  I thought it would be 4-6 months.  I am so happy.  Just shocked!!  I only stopped taking the pill November 30!

  • After 15 months of trying I think I was just expecting another negative test, so when it was positive we were more than surprised and excited!

Not trying to be political but thank goodness for Obama care! I had a mini panic attack for you until I remembered no more denials based on pre-existing conditions. Phew :) I didn't have insurance for a few years in law school so I would always avoid the doctor in case they found some crazy condition and I could never be insured again.

  • Yes and no. I'm a teacher and we REALLY tried in September for a June baby. We decided to NTNP until January because I wanted to at least start the school year off next year. Apparently my body had other plans ;) haha

Haha I'm actually an attorney! Obama care does me no good because I make to much to be poor but way to little to be rich haha. But until I figure it out I'm glad I can't be denied at some point because pregnancy.
  • Wasn't really planning on being here for another year or so. Boyfriend (8 1/2 years together) and I were planning on starting to try after we got married in the spring or summer... but we had been a bit careless... threw out the condoms a while back due to irritation on my part.... I was a few days late for AF which never happens.... I took a test on New Years Eve and got a faint line, took another the next day which was way darker and a digital confirmed I'm knocked up. I'm 28 and he's 34. We are both so excited. We've only told a few people and we're waiting til a heartbeat to tell the families. I'm 5 weeks today. First pregnancy.
  • We have been married for 7 years and trying for over two. After every fertility procedure possible, we finally had our first positive pregnancy test! We are very excited and will be able to see the heart in an ultrasound on Wednesday.
Hoping everything continues to go well!
