High-Risk Pregnancy

High Placenta???

I am seeing a high risk doctor due to two previous losses. I am currently 17 weeks pregnant. Each time I see my doctor he mentions a high placenta but then tells me not to worry. That it "should" move as the pregnancy progresses. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: High Placenta???

  • I've never heard of high placenta being a problem, only low

  • I think your OB may be talking about a High Anterior Placenta.  It just means that the placenta is in front of the baby instead of behind it, like it typically is.  All it means if it doesn't move is that you may not be able to feel the baby kick until later (kicking the placenta instead) or at all.  It poses no risk to your health.

I would just ask at your next appointment.
