So I'm curious to see if anyone would like to do a reading check-in once in a while. Perhaps this will motivate me to keep up with my books, but I also love hearing recommendations/thoughts on what others are reading too. I know many people are reading pregnancy books (whelp, I've read none), but I'm hoping to keep up with everyday reads too. If you'd like something like this, please chime in and I'll set up a post every other week or so (unless you'd prefer weekly).
Also, has anyone used BookBub? Lately I'm struggling to find free books to read on my nook as my options on Overdrive from my library are starting to dwindle.
Re: NPR: Readers, come in!
I need motivation to get off the internet and read again!
I feel sooo bad about how much I've let reading go lo these past weeks.... I sleep when I'm not working and if I'm not sleeping, I'm trying to sleep.
I'd lurk a check-in!

Currently reading mystery/thriller brain candy: Frozen by Kate Watterson
And Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.
I also love GoodReads. I tend to read several books at a time fiction, non-fiction, and sometimes brain candy novels
I'm currently reading the third book in the Gentleman Bastards series by Scott Lynch.
I've never heard of BookBub or Oyster... I'm off to Google them now!

I just finished "Sh!t No one Tells you About the First Year". I'm a FTM so I appreciated the author's humor mixed with the honesty about what happens during the first year.
A friend recommended Happiest Baby on the Block so I am just starting to read it now.
I would love to hear what others are reading. As a FTM I want to have as many tools/resources as possible!
Right now I'm reading Storm at the Door (and technically The Retribution of Mara Dyer, but in the interest of finishing my stack, I'm just focusing on the former)
I listen to books while I drive because I'm a super commuter (40-90 minutes each way every day) and found that it keeps me more alert plus extra books read! Currently in the 2nd Game of Thrones book. DH also listens while he drives and this is the first series we're doing together. I always read before I watch.
I'm a Kindle Unlimited member (like Netflix with ebooks if you have a Prime account, $10/month for 5 books at a time) and am working on The Hangman's Daughter series by Oliver Potzsch, translated (very well) by Lee Chadeaney. I think i read the first one last summer because it was a freebie. The rest of the books recently showed up on the list.
I've found that using things like Overdrive and free Kindle books has really changed my reading perspective. Especially using overdrive for listening. It's been good and taught me a lot more about what I could possibly like.
@sensitivesally mentioned a book club awhile back which I would also be interested in. We have a lot of readers on June 15!
I am currently listening to the second Divergent book. I have no shame. I was reading some darker stuff and needed something light. Next up is Big Little Lies! (After finishing the divergent series)
I am currently reading The Rosie Effect (follow up to The Rosie Project) and it's about a scientific man dealing with his less-logical wife's pregnancy, so it's fun to read so far.
Game of Thrones Book 5 is next. @nye373 is right, that series is SO long! But it's more challenging than some of the fiction books I've read so I have stuck with it for my brain. think it saved me from going into the 30s of new book quantity last year!
