Lactose intolerant

hi guys I'm a new mom of a 10 week old who is lactose intolerant his pediatrician told me to give him Nutramigen but I've noticed he'll get small hives here and there and he cries when I give it to him I guess he doesn't like it ...is it okay to give prosobee soy infant formula ? Or should I stay away from soy and continue to try Nutramigen for a little longer to check any more side effect?

  • Yes he gets fussy when I give him the formula , & I have left him a message just waiting on his call I just want to know how many ladies have tried soy formula with their lactose intolerant babies and if it sat well because I've read most babies with allergy to cow milk also have allergy to soy
  • I don't know the answer, but I hope someone here has it or that your doctor can make some recommendations. Good luck!

  • Our baby (11 weeks) got diagnosed with MSPI a few weeks ago. Our ped allergist prescribed an amino based formula that doesn't contain casein in it at all. He said more often than not (in his practice) babies still react to the broken down milk protein in the Nutramigen in some way. I certainly hope you can figure things out for your little guy! I know how hard of a struggle all this can be! We are supplementing with specialty formula and still noticing symptoms
