Is sex even possible with 2+ kids?

This post is probably a major tmi, but oh well.

When I was pregnant with DD1 and after having her my sex drive stayed pretty normal. However the same cannot be said for this time around. This pregnancy has been much harder and having a very active almost 3 year old has sapped my energy even more. I know that once newbie arrives that I'll have even less energy and likely less desire.

So I'm wondering is the thrill now gone for good?

This will be our 3rd child. After the initial adjustment I have found we get our groove back and settle into a 3-4 time/week routine.
An intimate relationship is very important to me, it will depend on your priorities.

Well...we've managed to enjoy it at least a few times since...LOL. Seriously, grinning like an idiot here.

Now, I must be fair. It has been a loooooong time since I had only little children. At this stage of life I have older children that can keep an eye on the little ones (without even realizing it) if we disappear for a little while for spontaneous fun. Otherwise, we wait until after bedtime. I do warn my DH that it's usually best not to wake me. So if he has plans, then he needs to come to bed at a decent hour. I am an early-to-bed person and he likes to go to bed late late late. So if he comes to bed around the same time as me, I take the hint. If I have plans, then I will often take a book to bed or something else to pass the time until he comes. Or just go to bed totally nude, that sends a clear message that it's ok to wake me.

When we were either pregnant with our third or just had him (can't remember), an older friend gave us good advice to get the little kids to bed at 7 pm. We had to work at it, but that was a really, really good time. Then we had a couple hours to ourselves to wind down and just feel "normal." I miss those days. I can't really make my teenagers go to bed at 7--ha! So that's my best advice for you--early bedtime for the kids (especially anyone under 7 years old). It will take work, but it is worth it.

I'm on my second as well, and I'm totally in the same boat. I also have medical issues that once DS2 is born I will have my remaining ovary and possibly my uterus removed. Which means I will go through menopause which scares the hell out of me. The doctor says it won't affect my libido but it makes me so nervous because I already feel it's decreasing. Plus I will be taking care of a new born, a 3yr old, and trying to keep up with work (after maternity leave) and nursing school. Hopefully I can squeeze in a little fun to keep my hubby happy. I've been trying some new things to get in the mood which has helped a little but not completely. I'm also a early bird when it comes to bed time and he is not which is hard to keep up with.

@misshart00‌ thanks that actually does help. It was a tough thought to take in at first but I've come to terms with the surgery part. I'm just very thankful I was able to have the opportunity to have one more baby. It truly is a miracle! I was supposed to have the surgery on June 3rd. They told me there was no way I was to have another child but I went into the or and was rolled back out 15minutes later because low and behold I was pregnant. God truly works in mysterious ways! I was worried about the "hormone" thing and trying to keep up with my wife duties. But it does make sense and I shouldn't be in pain anymore either which hopefully will help too.

Baby number six an he's the one who's lost interest. And its about impossible with 3 nosy kiddos running around. We can't even pee in our house without being walked in on.And right now I feel far from sexy. Lol
