I don't have any stories, but do you have a local La Leche League? Or can you talk to the LC's at a hospital near you? The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding talks about it and I know it is possible, but I also know it is a lot of work and I am guessing it would help to have a good support group around you. I think you might be best off renting a hospital grade pump at first too.
Best of luck to you! I really really hope it works out!.
Thanks! I did contact la leche league a couple of days. I'm waiting for their response. I have a pump and I have already given it a start. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again
In a breastfeeding support group I'm in one lady actually managed to start lactating to breastfeed a baby she adopted. So it's possible.
Pink, it's possible for you, too. Just keep offering the breast from time to time. I've heard of people who had been EPing for 6 months or longer suddenly have their child latch and go to town.
TTC #1 since August 2011 w/ unexplained IF
09/12-11/13: 3 TIs, 3 IUIs, ICSI/PGS IVF & 2 FETs
08/14: Our little miracle has FINALLY arrived - 3 years after we started trying!
How wonderful for you. I have really regretted not being able to continue our bf journey due to a blood clot and crazy medication. Has anyone ever heard of doing only ff and then going back to bf? I am almost done with my meds and "little bit" is only 5 months old.

I don't think it would hurt to try. I would definitely talk to a La Leche League leader and an LC and get a good support group.
For the record, I don't have a La Leche League in my area, but wish I did. My county actually has great breastfeeding support through their breastfeeding coalition, so maybe you have something like that in your area.
My (not very educated) advice would be to start pumping ASAP to try and get some milk flowing. If you actually got anything you could always pump and dump. After reading the thread about the Medela Symphony pump I think it would probably be worth your time to look into a rental grade pump too.
