Re: Tea for the preggo's

  • I drink green tea and English Breakfast tea. Both caffeinated and decaf. I think the herbal teas are the only ones that there is really no safety information for.

  • I just drink Lipton decaf tea. I stay away from herbal teas when I'm pregnant because they really don't know what's safe.
  • I have been drinking regular black or decaf black tea, and a lemon ginger. Not daily but every couple of days. I have been purposely avoiding green and oolong because it alters your folic acid absorption. If I really was craving a cup I would have any tea, especially now that I'm second trimester I'm a lot less freaked out. I watch the tea more for the caffeine because I do drink one cup of coffee daily and the occasional hot chocolate.
  • I drink Lipton regular and decaf, occasionally I will have a small iced tea in the afternoon. Hot cocoa is always good at night because this is very little caffeine in it

  • Passion Tea. I prefer iced.

Starbucks sells the Tazo brand. Yum. I get it unsweetened.

  • In Canada we have a place called David's tea. It's loose leaf tea... I think Teavana would be similar in the States. Anyway, I was obsessed with David's tea before becoming pregnant and since then I've been very careful in reading the ingredients and only drink herbal teas with ingredients that are known to be safe (almonds, apples, coconut etc), and all caffeine free (mainly all rooibos and decaf chai). I hope that these are okay... However recently I became paranoid about cinnamon as the findings seem to be uncertain... Anybody know anything more? I've cut down to teas containing cinnamon every 2nd or 3rd day just in case.
  • What's wrong with tea?
  • The only teas I avoided early on were those that may cause miscarrige( induce labor later) such as raspberry and cinnamon. I've been drinking everything else as long as it's all natural/no additives.

I get Earth Mother Angel Baby Tea. I have morning wellness and Peaceful Mama. I love Peaceful Mama. I'll probably get the third trimester tea as well when the time comes.

@SAHMommie‌ What brand or where do you get them?
  • I was drinking iced decaffeinated black tea with honey and lemon when I had a brief aversion to plain water. I also was drinking raspberry leaf tea. I think the idea is that it makes pushing more effective because the uterine muscles are more toned. But if I was uncomfortable with herbal teas, I definitely wouldn't start drinking any. Raspberry leaf tea made me sick a few weeks ago and I've been avoiding it since, but I'll probably start it again when I'm feeling better. I have this yummy recipe using apple juice as a sweetener and serving it iced.

Nothing. I live on tea. There are some herbals that you should steer clear from. But just research first. Reg tea is fine.
  • I'm on a tea kick. I drink tea all day every day. I usually will steep a reg lipton bag in the AM and add more hot water for a second cup (most of the caffeine is infused within the first few seconds). I also drink green tea (reg and decaf), sleepytime tea, sleepytime green tea, iced passion tea lemonade (unsweetened) from Starbucks (and it's decaf). I also drink a lot of Snapple Diet Half tea/half lemonade.

  • This. Yummy and safe... Supposedly it's preparing my uterus also, but that's just a bonus!
