For the ladies on medicated cycles

I'm am on CD 12 we are doing IUI #2 this week (or that's the plan) so I am on 50 of gonal-f daily after 5 days of letrozole. Things are looking good, 4 developing follicles total. That's the back story...the reason for the post is this. We have to stop BD 3-5 days prior to IUI per my RE, so yesterday was our last BD till post IUI. Either it's the meds or the knowledge that we can't have sex but I get crazy frisky the closer we get to IUI. DH calls it HHH (hopped up on hormones horny) it's really bad, I feel twitchy in my own skin and have crazy sex dreams (thanks Mark Wahlberg for this mornings amazing session!) does anyone else get these effects?

This made me laugh a little

I think if I had my choice for dreams right now I would go with Bradley Cooper. I definitely think around my O time I am more interested in the BD so I think it naturally happens, just amplified with the extra hormones? I'll let you know because I'll be on similar meds at the end of this month.

You guys crack me up! RE's are all so different. We were "prescribed" sex either 2 or 3 nights prior. We got it in 2 nights prior (36 hours before IUI). Luckily my hubby's count was awesome anyway. I do find I'm more interested around "O" time though.

Omg I love it all.
Why can't you have sex before IUI @dukegirlsc? I have no experience I am just curious. Does DH have sperm issues.
I know a lot of ladies have sex before IUI's.

But I do get extra horney during ovulation so I could only imagine how it would be hopped up on meds.

@kindershlitz Mark Wahlberg would never be my first choice but for some reason he showed up, in a football uniform no less! I'm blaming that part on DH's decision to watch every single football game that is on! I'm sure it is just the natural urge to procreate amplified by crazy hormones!! But wow, is it amplified!

@emsmama15 they tell us no sex 3-5 days prior to IUI, the only thing is we don't know when that will be, I go back tomorrow to check follicles so we will have a better idea but my body surges on it's own so with our first IUI my follicles got to 18 and we had IUI the next morning! All that being said I know it will happen this week, as early as Tuesday as late as Friday so we played it safe

He has a rockstar count so I don't really worry about it too much, thank goodness!

@hooligans4 that picture it totally yum, I can blame you when Adam Levine shows up in tonights porn star dream and it's RE's protocol for IUI, no sex 3-5 days prior, any less and you can have decreased in count and any more and you'll have a bunch of dead swimmers. His counts are great and apparently enough to get the job done as the IUI worked last time so there is no way he will go against the protocol, no matter how bad I want it!

I needed this post tonight... I literally Laughed Out Loud. I am anticipating medicated cycles after RE on the 15th... and boy will I be in trouble. My sex drive is already higher than DH (decreased sex drive is yet another symptom of menopause I DO NOT have... ) so I will really be in trouble if I'm HHH and can't "take care of that".

vh2014, my sex drive is uber high too so this makes it crazy. DH asks "where is your toy?!?" It's just not the same, sigh.

fun - i opened this expecting a technical question regarding medications. Gave me a much needed smile tonight

I have only done one IUI, but we just abstained for 48 hours prior. Didn't want to do any longer in case i ovulated early we wanted to make sure we had some swimmers in there.

I've had a high sex drive up until the last couple IUI's (I've had 5 or 6). Now, not so much. Think it is stress related more than anything. Our RE also has us abstain for 48 hours prior to IUI.

This thread is amazing, except for the fact that I now am picturing what the remainder of that picture of Adam Levine looks like and I'm not allowed to have uterine contractions right now. Lol. Sigh....
