Gender Reveal

Trying to come up with ideas reveal baby gender to family. Our family wants to come to the doctors appointment with us to find out the baby's sex, but I would really love for me and my husband to find out first and then surprise our family with the news after that. Any ideas?

Doctor's appointments & scans are also about baby's health and not really appropriate for a family gathering so hopefully your family understands that much. There are great ideas on Pinterest. Plus this has been discussed so try the search function.

No. Let that moment be for you and find a creative way to tell them later. We called our immediate family and the rest of our friends and family will find out when we announce it.

We are putting pink or blue balloons in a box and letting our DDs open it. The rest of the family will get a text message. I only need to make it special for my girls and inform everyone else.

We told our kids with pink balloons. Told my parents at dinner and I think for my siblings we showed them the video of our kids seeing the pink balloons.

Pintrest does have some great ideas...since you were considering having them at the appointment I assume it will be in person and not via mail, so here are a couple ideas to get you started.

Bake or order a cake with pink or blue icing in the middle to reveal when you cut into it (or cupcakes)

Release balloons from a box/put the correct color confetti in a black balloon and pop it

Wear a blue or pink shirt to the party (wear something over it and then reveal when you are ready)

Spray silly string on everyone in the correct color

OR you could just gather everyone together and you and SO can yell it out together.

Our doctor wrote the gender down in an envelope and I took it to a bakery. They made a dozen cupcakes and only filled one with colored icing. We had family over and we all bit into our cupcakes at the same time and waited to see who got the colored one. My best friend turned hers around and showed us our pink icing for our baby girl

it was a fun way to have everyone involved and we found out along with our family
