Lack of sleep= chills??

Last night was a terrible night for sleep. LO was up almost every hour. Today I cannot get warm and its 80 degrees here. I am so chilly and it feels like it would be a fever but no temp. On top of that, I really overdid it at the gym yesterday and my legs are in agony today (more than they would usually be). DH works all weekend so he is no help except for a few hours. I know, pity party of one over here. Is it possible that this could be caused by lack of sleep?

  • Try to get a lot of rest and fluids! Hope you feel better.

  • When I'm super tired, I get the chills...even when it's warm. There were times I'd shake really bad when LO was a newborn and I was awake with her in the middle of the night. I used to think I'd drop her.
  • Two thoughts: 1) I got the chills bad in the beginning after giving birth and I read it was hormonal 2) do you nurse? I just got over mastitis and it started with aches in my legs and the chills. Eight hours later I had a 102.0 fever. If you nurse, maybe check your breast for any clogs? Mine was tender, but not the incredible pain I read about.

    Feel better!

Omg yes and I think I have a plugged duct. That side is very tender and LO is so frustrated on that side trying to nurse. I've been trying to unplug it myself but I don't think I've been successful. It feels better for a little bit and then hurts again. Ughh if I do get a fever, who do I contact- my OB?

  • Try dip and dangle. Grab a cup of super warm water (as warm as you can bare) and dip your nipple in it and let it dangle. Sometimes the clog will begin to release itself (in my circumstance the yeast covering the clogged pore broke and the milk started flowing immediatly) if after about a minute your still feeling tender try some expression while still in the warm water. I did this almost after every feed (since i had yeast covering one of my nipples i did a vinagar rinse for a minute to help break down the yeast then did the warm water soak). I felt better in a few days.

  • How long does it take for the tenderness of a plugged duct to go away? I think baby may have got it out in a MOTN feeding (don't feel any hardness right now) but it is still very tender

  • @belle785‌ I had one a couple weeks ago and for me it took another 24 hrs for the tenderness to disappear :(

I've had one. It's so painful!!! Get in the hot shower and massage with a comb. Alternate with ice. Definitely call the OB though if you have a fever.
  • It took roughly 48 hrs for mine to feel better, I think i may have bruised my boob like weeklyplanner. I feel a huge lump now whenever that duct fills with milk and it's tender but after Itty bit nurses it disappears
