NTTCAL related: PSA - try to avoid walking into dressers

I woke up this morning as normal, went to the bathroom, but on the way back I kicked/walked into my dresser and injured my right foot. It was bad enough that I went to urgent care (which for me is a big deal - I always put off getting medical attention for these kinds of things). Glad I did, because it turns out I have a spiral fracture of my middle toe on my right foot. It's currently splinted and I have instructions to follow up with an orthopedist tomorrow. UGH. And of course it is my right foot, so I don't know when I'll be able to drive.

It's hurting but not too terrible. Mostly I'm stressing about how inconvenient the next several days/weeks can be, with getting to work without driving and hobbling around on crutches. Hopefully the orthopedist will give me a walking boot (although I still won't be able to drive).

Thanks, ladies. I think DH and I need to switch sides of the bed. I'm always walking into furniture on the way back from the bathroom, and his side there's less stuff in the way!

We're broken toe buddies. Mine was ironic because I was packing up non-essentials in our bathroom for the move (including medical tape). Once I was done packing and taping the box I was carrying it to the bedroon and rammed my foot into the door jam. Broke the toe next to my pinkie toe on Wednesday. Had to open the box to buddy tape my toe. Today is the first day it doesn't hurt to walk. Hope you're able to drive in a regular shoe in 5-10 days but I'd totally get the boot because instead I've been walking with my foot flexed and toes up - causing charlie horses in my calf from constant flexing. Ouch!

I can't put any weight on it at all right now. The urgent care doc put it in a big split (which is hurting my ankle) and I have significant pain if I try to put any weight on it. I've been lying on the couch with my foot up all day, and I already told my boss I won't be in tomorrow (since I need to see the orthopedist anyway). I hope once I get a boot I'll at least be able to walk. These crutches are awful.
