Greys Anatomy watchers come in!

edited January 2015 in May 2014 Moms
So I know this show is all about drama and its supposed to be very dramatic but I feel like every time I watch it, I get so much anxiety. I feel like I have cancer or some crazy illness that I am dying from lol I am such a wimp. Anyone else feel like that when they watch certain shows? I also can't deal with seeing a kid die or a mother. It upsets me so much.

  • You are not alone my friend. I love that show. I've watched so far the first 10 seasons. It's an addicting show but I have diagnosed myself quite a few times.

  • I think I may need to take a small break from the show :/
  • If Grey's is your equivalent to Dr. Google, perhaps it's best to take a break from it.

The Walking Dead used to stress me out (those people can never catch a break!), but I've gotten used to it over time.
  • Some of the stuff on there is totally wrong. I'm a nurse and we haven't used hand paddles to shock people in years. It's all for drama. I watch the show but it's getting a little annoying that every year there is a catastrophic event like plane crash, hospital shooting, ferry crash. I would be fine watching it without the crazy stuff that would never happen to 1 group of doctors
  • Greys is heavily medically inaccurate if that helps at all.

I'm obsessed with House MD and have used it to study when I couldn't read anymore. :|
  • I'm a faithful watcher, but it's more like reading a good book to me. I get really invested in it but only emotionally.

  • I love me some grey's anatomy but I don't self diagnose or get stressed out because of it. I do have that issue when I watched House though - but it's always the same on that show, Lupus, Sarcoidosis, infection from eating pork (lol).

I have a feeling I'm going to get really sad watching what unfolds with April's baby though.

When does the new season start?

  • OMG @DH09072012‌ I don't think I'm going to be able to watch the stuff with April's baby. I can't do it.

The show should be back on either the 22nd or 29th I can't remember.

  • That is good to know that it is inaccurate ;) one thing that does annoy me is almost everyone dies during surgery. That cant be accurate or I am refusing any surgery in the future! Christina is really starting to annoy me also. I dont like how negative she is all the time.

I love me some House! I've probably seen every episode like, twice.

    Spoiler alert: Christina's gone! :)

Me too. Or, five times. DH refuses to watch it with me because I scream out (mostly inaccurate) diagnoses the entire time.

    ITS MS! MENINGITIS! MD!
  • I can't believe that I've kept up with this show since it first started. I'm a nurse too and I used to work in a really stressful hospital situation. I didn't like watching Grey's then because - despite the medical inaccuracies - it reminded me of work and made me anxious. Some of the drama is annoying. Seriously, how many long lost half siblings that just so happen to be surgeons can Meredith have??

I'm afraid of what's going to happen to April's baby too :-(
  • I watch too. I'm so sad about April's baby and don't think I can watch as sadly I have a friend who just told me her baby has trisomy 18 :( She's very religious as is April on the show and is carrying the baby as long as she can and is praying for a miracle. Just so heartbreaking.
  • Has anyone read Handle with Care by Jodi Piccoult? It's about a girl with brittle bone disease. This deal with April's baby can't end well...

  • I am now into "Pretty Little Liars" :)
  • @sstwinklinglites‌ I am only on season 1! I am watching on netflix. I just finished the episode when they were at the dance and Toby took Emily to the hospital. So far it's interesting but pretty good :)

    I have.
I'm so sad that they'd do this to April. Even if they brought back Addison to take the case on, I just don't see if ending well. :(

Never thought of them bringing back Addison. But still... Too sad
