Can you recommed your midsize sedan (to fit 2 carseats)?

I have 2 LO needing  carseats to fit in the backseat.  I have a rear-facing carseat for 4 mo and a 5 point harness booster seat for my 30lb almost 4 yo. (both britax) in our suv.  We are going to get a second car and wanted to know if your car comfortably fits these 2 seats in the back.  Can you do them side by side or one on each side?  I'm hoping to do rear facing seat in middle. I know car seats can come smaller than britax, so I'll be in the market for carseats too.  So if you want, I'd appreciate any info on the car seats you recommend since britax are really expensive.
Thanks

For a sedan, we love our Nissan Altima. We had DS rear facing in Britax Marathon until 3 yrs on passenger side without feeling cramped. He's currently in Graco Nautilus 5 pt harness booster (ff). In addition, we have 7 month old DD in her keyfit, but will shortly move into DS Marathon. We have not used the middle space for a car seat, but I have sat between the Chicco and Britax and fit, so it's certainly roomy. The trunk is sizeable too, which is a great bonus.

  • May I ask why you'd prefer the rear facer to be in the middle?  If you're able to get two seats side by side, the forward facer would ideally be in the middle.  They are the more at risk passenger because they're forward facing.

I have an altima too abd i love it. I have 2 car seats in the back, but have never tried putting one in the middle.

ETA: the best thing is the keyless entry and push button start. I never have to dig my keys out of my purse or diaper bag.

  • I have a Subaru Legacy that easily fits my Baby Trend infant car seat and Britax Roundabout in the back. The Britax fits nicely both forward and backward facing. It snows a lot where we live so the AWD is a wonderful thing!
  • We have a VW Passat and we love it. Both kids (3yo and 6mo) sit on the sides, there's plenty of room for both seats and when we need to, i can even squeeze myself in the middle of them to have five of us on the car. front seat passengers don't need to be uncomfortably forward either, there's no need. The interior is really roomy. it's a top safety rated car, and has huge trunk space - even more than our SUV! highly recommend.
  • Chevy Impala fits a forward facing 5 point harness on passenger side and a rear facing infant carrier and base in the middle. I also can sit with them in the back seat.
