Crawling?!

A few days ago DS started picking himself up on his hands but hasn't figured out how to pick himself up onto his knees yet. He's been getting really frustrated and will start to fuss and cry and then starts doing something like an army crawl! My question is: is there anyway to help him figure out that he's supposed to get up on his knees too? Or will he just eventually figure it out on his own? Oh! And is anyone else's LO doing this and what are you doing to help?

Re: Crawling?!

  • A is doing this and she has yet to rill over unassisted! Ds did too. He used to do this funny worm thing. He eventually figured out to get to on his knees.

  • My LO is doing the same thing! He gets up on his knees a little too and looks like he wants to get going and then falls on his face and gets so pissed. But when I try to encourage him he gets mad at me for touching him. He'll figure it out when he is ready. He must scoot himself somehow though because I set him down and when I turn around he is somewhere completely different.

  • DS has a cousin who does the army crawl--I'm not sure when he started, but I assume it got him around just fine because he didn't quite get the hang of real crawling until right around his first birthday a couple of weeks ago.

I have no advice, but I'm sure your LO will put it all together when he's ready!
  • DD doesn't do that yet. DS did that from seven months to ten months. It was then that he discovered how to crawl. Either way, he was busy and always on the go. I can wait for that.

  • DD recently started lifting herself up with a full-arm extension and once in a while will get up on her knees or toes! She wants so bad to move, and because she's so petite I'm sure she'll be crawling within a month, give or take. Right now the only thing she accomplishes is pushing herself backwards ;)

This! She gets mad because she wants her toys, but she's actually moving away from them. Hahaha it's sad and hilarious.
  • DS hasn't figured out rolling belly to back yet. He just gets so frustrated that he can't get on his knees! And he does the same thing! @cdseno‌ if I try to help him up on his knees to show him it just pisses him off more! Haha

I thought belly to back was supposed to happen first.

So did I! He rolls back to belly no problem! In fact as soon as I lay him down he rolls to his belly but hasn't figured out how to get back to his back. I have a feeling he's gonna be crawling for real before he figures it out!

LO does back to belly no prob... Belly to back happens by accident, it seems. He can't quite get the movements yet but I know it has happened from how he travels around the crib at night.
