getting induced 6 days earlier than due date

I was due Jan 13 to welcome my Lil boy...I am a FTM an this is all been a experience I will never forget. In the past three weeks or so my platelets have been tested an they kept dropping, all of a sudden my ob tells me at my last weeks visit I will be getting induced on the 7th... I guess its a good thing that I know exactly when my baby will be here..but it also terrifys me..I feel like I'm not being told something, is something going to happen to me, not just that I don't even feel like I'm ready for this experience... I'm freaking out as the day gets closer...

    I get that's rather exciting and scary at the same time! I doubt there's anything they aren't telling you, but you can always call and ask. If it were a major emergency, you'd have that baby out already and they wouldn't be waiting until middle of next week.

    I hope your induction goes smoothly!

    I don't think anyone actually knows what to really ask sometimes or you go in with all these questions an they make you feel like everythingis going great so you don't even ask or you just forget... Thank you I praying for the same as long as he is healthy I will always be thankful ...

    My gut feeling is that your platelets are dropping, must be a bad thing...thus you are being induced early to prevent it from dropping more? That makes sense to me but I'm not a dr.
