Name ideas for a girl?

I feel lame for asking this but we had it narrowed down to a few names and now I am thinking they are just not right.

We like classic names such as Caroline and Natalie (both of which are not usable for us) and I would love Lee to be a middle name but I am not set on it.

What are your favorite classic names?
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

Re: Name ideas for a girl?

  • Evelyn is my favorite classic name that DH hates.

    Audrey is another that I love.

    I like it. But it also reminds me of Kathy Lee.

    Kind of but not enough to say no to it.

    I don't think so. You'll also get so used to it once you've been saying it all the time.

  • See this is my problem ha it's just not right. But I can't think of a MN I love with Katherine. And H is worried about NNs. So I was starting over.

  • Abigail Lee, as @kefttsc‌ mentioned is beautiful. She will definitely be called Abby though- still an adorable name! Abby Lee. I personally also like Annabelle! Annabelle Lee? Kind of a mouthful though.

    We are also using the middle name Lee for our little girl. We can be Lee buddies @aggiebug‌!
  • Lurking as I have no name for my girl... Just threatened DH that I will have to write "Noname" on her birth certificate form.

    Annabel Lee

    BY EDGAR ALLAN POE
    It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the sea,
    That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of Annabel Lee;
    And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by me.

    I was a child and she was a child,
    In this kingdom by the sea,
    But we loved with a love that was more than love—
    I and my Annabel Lee—
    With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
    Coveted her and me.

    And this was the reason that, long ago,
    In this kingdom by the sea,
    A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
    My beautiful Annabel Lee;
    So that her highborn kinsmen came
    And bore her away from me,
    To shut her up in a sepulchre
    In this kingdom by the sea.

    The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
    Went envying her and me—
    Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
    In this kingdom by the sea)
    That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
    Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

    But our love it was stronger by far than the love
    Of those who were older than we—
    Of many far wiser than we—
    And neither the angels in Heaven above
    Nor the demons down under the sea
    Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

    For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
    And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
    And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
    Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride,
    In her sepulchre there by the sea—
    In her tomb by the sounding sea.

    Fyi
    Thank you! I was sitting here thinking where have I heard that before.

    While it is a beautiful name I thought it was worth pointing out the poem since this is where my mind guess everytime. It's a tragic name and quite poetic (get it, poe).

    @SaraL1175‌ I may have told H I was sending him away when the person came with the birth certificate info and he would have no say. ;)

    Thanks for the brainstorming help. We have decided to write our top 5 down individually and reconvene sometime soon.

    This naming a person thing is difficult.

    Agreed, so hard!!

    What about the spelling Leigh? I love that spelling.
  • It will be Lee or not used at all. I would be open for changing the spelling as a first name but H hates it as a first name so there is that. It has also been a middle name for 3 generations so I like the idea of keeping the same anyway.

  • Don't forget about Josephine or Margot. I adore those names!

    Margot is really nice! I hadn't thought of that one.

    I've decided on Esme, though. My partner thought of it having read a Terry Pratchet book (nothing to do with Twilight! Haha!)
