Better late than never, Christians birth story.

With the 2 episodes of PTL, it seemed that at every appointment my providers were shocked and relieved that I hadn't delivered yet. At my 37 week appointment my BP was elevated, I had gained 15lbs in 3 weeks (fluid retention), and my cervix was 4 cm, almost 90% effaced and at a -1 station. My dr sent me to L&D and told me I would most likely be leaving with a baby. Well, apparently the L&D staff had other plans. They did some blood work and gave me a pee bucket and told me to go home. Oh, before I left I asked if I was still on pelvic rest. :)) I was instructed to check back in to L&D when I dropped off my urine the next day for a BP check. I went home, and told DH to go out for some drinks with friends.....I then jumped his bones when he got home ;) Needless to say, I was excited to be off pelvic rest. That night I had crazy contractions, the kind that almost caused tears. They were 2-3 minutes apart for almost 4 hours. I was rocking on my hands and knees trying to find relief. All of a sudden they just slowed down and stopped. I was a little bit bummed. So anyway, the next day, Dec 19th, I went to the hospital to turn in my urine and have my BP checked. It was slightly elevated and I told the nurse about the contractions I had had the night before. The Dr decided to do a cervical check and I was at 5cm, 0 station, and 90% effaced. He also did a major sweep of the membranes while he was down there. He said he didn't feel comfortable letting me leave the hospital and they decided to admit me and induce labor.

I get admitted and call my DH to let him know what was going on. It was about 1430, he said he got off early and was headed home. I told him to grab my hospital bag and car seat and head to the hospital. I think the words "Are you shitting me?" came out of his mouth. Ha ha. It seemed to take forever for them to get me admitted. They put me and baby on the tocometer and discussed when they would start the pit. I asked them to wait until DH got there. At around 1600 a resident I had never met said she was going to check me and break my water. I told her no that I wanted to get the pit started first and give it a chance to work. I wasn't contracting at all yet. DH got there and they let us go for a walk as long as we didn't leave the 5th floor. I had DH sneak me a sandwich since I knew they wouldn't let me eat once the pit was started.

1645: Pit was started, the contractions never really got painful. The contractions I had the night before were way more intense.

2100: they want to break my water, I haven't progressed at all.

2110: Epidural placed. Even though I wasn't in pain I wanted an epidural before my water was broken. I'm so glad I did. Considering how fast I progressed once they ruptured me.

2122: Water was broken, I told DH to get get something to eat since they told me it would be 2-4 hours later.

35 min later: they put me on my side because baby was sunny side up

5 min after that: Dr checks me and I'm 100% effaced, 10cm, and at +1. The dr told me its time to push. DH is still out getting food. I asked them to wait.

5 more minutes: DH walks in with his food and I tell him it's go time. I could tell he was nervous and excited.

2222: 1 hour after my water was broken, and on my 3rd push, out came my baby. My husband announced to the me and the room "It's a Boy!" ( we were team green), and they placed him on my chest. We stayed skin-to-skin for an hour.
They stitched up my small peri urethral tear and let us be.

44 hours later we were released. He latched well and I thought BF was going to go well, but I'm still struggling with production. DD is adjusting to the big sister role like a champ. He is a great baby and we are all so in love.
