My sweet cousin just rubbed my belly and said it was for good luck. (Face palm) I normally don't care if it's family, as she is, but it all just bloat right now, and only makes me feel embarrassed that she rubbed my fat. She has no kids of her own and has no idea how big baby is, so it was purely ignorance. But still (face palm) Lol

Anyone else have this happen yet?

My friends daughter works with us. When she leaves the office everyday she gives me a quick hug or kiss on the cheek. She's like an adopted kid. She says bye and then immediately taps my belly and says "bye babies". I just growl at her. It's our new daily routine.
I am not super amused though.

Hahaha omg you ladies are hilarious!!!! My sister rubs my belly each time she sees me. Yes it is a bit uncomfortable because I have some extra cushion still there from being pregnant 2 years ago but it's my sister so I don't mind... Now a stranger better not because I do carry pepper spray!

It hasn't happened yet, but I will probably say some thing like "ooh, I've been so constipated. Keep rubbing--you're loosening things up." Gross, right? I think it will effectively convey the awkward-factor.

Yes. My district manager when I told her we got a positive test (due to time off I had to tell her about our IVF) she rubbed my stomach and told me she thought I looked bigger. I've had to explain to her several times that is bloat and it will be a while yet before it's baby. My MIL tried when we came over on new years day for dinner. I had to again out a stop to it. I gained weight during IVF ams do not appreciate people pointing it out. I pointed to my pelvic none with my MIL and explained she would have to rub there, but that would be weird.

My husband does. ALL THE TIME. it's driving me nuts. I'm starting to get snarky with him about it and then he pouts because he feels left out. I tell him he can have my morning sickness ALL DAY long. I'll tell you when there is something other than fat to touch! Goodness. Sorry, that was a bit of a vent. Lol I love my DH very much! :x

Whenever people did this to me, I'd do the exact thing back to them. I know I've said it a million times, but this is exactly why I'm not announcing until it is super obvious. I hate the invasion of personal space and all the comments!

Yeap, but its the DF. I love when he gives me a nice rub and then a lower back rub to follow! I'm not personally self-conscious about it though, with all the cramping it actually helps! We are not modest at all and I've never been. I just figured out way early in our relationship that since he's loved me at my worst and he hasn't left, he will accept me and all my changes in my life, which he has. And plus, if I were to be uncomfortable with him touching my bloat now, I would be in for a REAL shit show for birth and the weeks leading up to it!

Yup. I had a Co worker put her ear up to my belly and asked if she could hear anything yet. Another co-worker rubbed my belly and said in 4 weeks I would be looking like out other Co worker who was 28 weeks. I was like um no. She is way ahead of me. Mind you I am a nurse these people know better. And lastly my mother shoved her face into my stomach and yelled hello in there this is your grandma. I kindly explained the baby has no ears. My mom however I was more patient with cause she just found out (we live 4 hours away) and this is her first grand baby so she is really pumped. I can tolerate such antics from her...but no one else.

I only let DH do it, but only because he missed out on my pregnancy with DS. I let him know when its uncomfortable and hes totally cool with it. And of course i let DS do it too mostly because hes super cute about it. But if anyone else tried to, most likely i would start backing away.

Haha! Yup, my best friend from kindergarten reached for my belly and said, "I hope you don't mind if I rub your belly!" And I said, "Sure, as long as you don't mind all the bruises!" (I'm on injectible medications - blood thinners in the belly, and PIO in the butt) She gasped when I said that and was like, "What?! Why bruises?!" I was like, "Oh, never mind!" She also kissed my belly on the way out. It was a little weird. Especially since I had just lost one of the babies (it was a twin pregnancy up until Dec 22nd), but she doesn't understand so I let it go. She meant well, and was just trying to express her happiness for me.

This (along with my paranoia from infertility & loss) is why we probably won't announce the pregnancy to the world until it's absolutely necessary. I'm a little worried about my reaction when a total stranger touches me. I have no filter on a good day! Someone might get hurt

Ugh! I got a belly rub last night! It's not even baby yet! It's just the same old fat I've been carrying around for years! Worst part is that it was from a friend of my SO, that shouldn't even know yet! My stupid SO doesn't even know how to keep his mouth shut! I haven't announced yet and don't want everyone knowing! It's my first pregnancy and I'm only 8 weeks!
