So, Ill be 30 weeks on Sunday,. and I have not gained a single pound. (Yay me). I haven't been counting calories or anything like that- and not limiting myself. Just trying not to eat junk. Also, i have been very very sick- kidney stones, had surgery on a strangulated hernia, you name it. This pregnancy has been a nightmare. BUT I am pretty excited that I haven't gained any weight. Ive actually lost about 5 pounds since my first doctors appointment. Im pretty overweight to start with- I'm 5"6 and right now at 30 weeks I weight 198. Has anyone experienced this?? Am I gonna drop a bunch of weight after I deliver, or is that just wishful thinking?? I feel like with the weight "gain" of the baby, and placenta and all that, that maybe I'm gonna drop a bunch of weight in the months after I have the baby. buy maybe thats wishful t thinking. Hahaha
Re: Weight Question
I'm sorry for your illnesses during this pregnancy and hope for the best for you. But the person to talk to about weight concerns is your doctor. I know that pregnant women who are overweight or obese are generally encouraged to gain less, so you are likely just fine. Has your doctor said anything yet?
Hoping to turn your pregnancy into some magical weight loss pill at the end of it is really just snotty and was never going to go over well.

"Yay me" is very braggy for many moms who a. Struggled to conceive and b. Struggle with GD and/or their weight
Married the love of my life: 5-17-14
BFP:6-27-14
EDD:3-11-15
Step Mom to Z: 4-11-06
IT'S A BOY!!!!!!
However, I've gained little weight either but it's definitely not something I'd like to brag about. I've been gestational diabetic since 14 weeks which has slowed my gain and I wish I had the option to eat junk if I wanted to honestly. Also my weight gain slowed with my last pregnancy and my son was IUGR even though I was diabetic with him as well and 'm not sure the two are even related but it still worries me.
I have tried so hard to watch what I eat and I still have gained this much this early. I struggle worrying about it so much. People like you make it worse. THANKS!
OP, it's a struggle for me too as someone who worked very hard to get fit prior to this pregnancy to listen to how little others have gained even when I am working out 3-4 times per week and trying to watch what I eat.
Even my husband is smart enough to not talk about weight and not allow me to obsess about it. He reminds me that I AM GROWING A HUMAN! Each body is different and if my dr is ok with it then I should be too.
I am glad you have been able to maintain your weight and your previous pregnancy issues have resolved but don't call this group wretched. Now that's just mean. It's hard to give support to someone calling you names . . .
And now this because I love that I can gif now!
Losing weight like that during pregnancy is actually a serious side-effect of a medical condition called Collin's Syndrome (NOT treacher Collins syndrome, which is a different disease entirely). I would consult your doctor immediately, there are some pretty basic tests your OB can do to determine how severe your case is. Collin's Syndrome doesn't effect your baby, thank god, but it will have very serious repercussions for you.
Aside from weight loss, side effects can include leaking and sore or dry nipples, dry-mouth, and constipation. Typically women who have this end up gaining all their pregnancy weight after the baby is born. Leftover genetic material causes the creation of "ghost babies", masses of extra teeth and hair, that form and grow unchecked inside a woman's uterus.
It could also be dar-kosis causing your failure to gain weight, and that one can be potentially fatal. Captain Trips is also a possibility.
Please talk to your OB and get tested. I'm very worried about your health and safety.
Not gaining weight is not something to cheer about. It's nerve wracking if you truly care about the health of your LO.

Anyway, I'm thinking this pregnant at 165 you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure you still look great and very healthy.
Weight gain depends on your starting bmi, you aren't supposed to gain any weight because you are already obese.

Actually it is partially correct. If you fall in the obese range you should look to keep weight gain under 15, and a loss is fine.
I was trying to write more and gave up on my phone. It is acting up. And taking forever to write in this damn page.

I think it is TB. It was being a pain in the butt for me today as well.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to come out harsh, I was annoyed with the OP. By the beginning of the 3rd trimester, it wouldn't be a concern that you hadn't gained any weight of you stated with a BMI of 32 unless your Dr said it was. Someone who started out underweight is going to need to gain significantly more than someone who starts with an 'obese' BMI. It seems pretty silly to have a braggy dear diary post about your weight when you are at a place where you may not need to gain weight at all. Of course, as with all things medical, consult your own Dr.
