Twins & cluster feeding

Hi! Hopping over here from multiples board!

My twin girls are 15 days new ;). We are tandem nursing both and up until today, supplementing w/ bottle after each feeding.

Both are above birth weight - so I've decided to remove bottle feeds during day and transition to just nursing.

My question is - I've had them both on same schedule from day 1 & intend to keep that way.... So how do I handle cluster feeding?? Or I don't??

Re: Twins & cluster feeding

  • But feed them together or separate when that happens?

  • We don't tandem nurse much yet because they're both still hard to latch well. So when they cluster feed, it's one and then the other then right back to the first one, essentially. The only thing I don't do is switch them sides while they cluster feed or else one will get one side that was just finished with. I just sit on the couch and DH brings me one and then the other. They only have been doing this for a few nights and we give them a "bedtime bottle" anyway, and that brings and end to the feedings after about 2-3 hours.
