Hi Ladies! I have been MIA for a long time, but have recently came back to get into discussions again!

We are looking at taking a trip within the next couple of months but I am having a really difficult time deciding where we should go. Money is tight and I would like to keep our budget around $3,000.00. I don't want to spend a great deal of money given our son will be a little over 2. DS is a people watcher and we want somewhere fun to be on the go. (We aren't really sit at the beach type of people.)

I've looked into AI in Mexico and hotels in Orlando. I don't think I can justify Florida as I think it will be more and I'm not sure how much he will truly enjoy Disney yet. (He gets scared of characters when we see them at different events.)

Any suggestions, advice, or experiences would be great!

    We went to Hilton Head when DD was 20 months old. She loved the ocean. It was a 12 hour drive which sucked but we did the majority of it overnight.

    She absolutely loved the ocean and they had a lot of family friendly stuff.

    We were lucky enough to stay with friends at their parent's condo which was awesome, but DH and I slept in the same room as DD which wasn't ideal but worked out ok. If you can get a separate room for your LO I would recommend it.

    DD loved Disney the last time we went, she was 21 months old when we went to the one in HK. They let her go on a bunch of kiddie rides but it is a one day event IMO. I lived in Orlando for years but I don't remember much about what else is around there zoo/aquarium to fill up another day or two.

    We've done lots of trips with DD but the only one in the US was to Rehoboth in Delaware, we want to go again when we're back in the States, stay at the Dogfish Head Motel. It's a beach town though so probably not ideal for you.

    Colorado is my favorite state, Garden of the Gods is cool, Golden is beautiful, we didn't have DD when we lived there but I'd think it could be fun.

    I don't know what's in Mexico, the only time I went we were drunk at the beach.

    The problem with a lot of these places, especially in Asia is that you're starting with a 1000-1200 dollar ticket just to get there! Also, if you're interested in Asia I'd recommend Siem Reap, Cambodia. That was my favorite vacation spot so far.

    I'd like to go to Niagara Falls again though! Maybe I'll mention it to DH, see if I can convince him to go!

    We love Hilton Head! And I second the others about renting a house.

    @sewvt86‌ - which beach? My parents retired there last year. We only live about an hour and a half north of there so we've been to the brewery and the restaurant in downtown Rehoboth at few times. I love their pizzas! We haven't made it to the hotel yet but my SIL went and said it was really cool.

    @sewvt86 - they're in Ocean View, about a mile inland from Bethany. They love it down there.
