what breast pump did you chose and why?

Re: Breast pump

  • I didn't get a choice, my insurance would have covered different brands but my hospital only carries one. Madela pump in style

  • Also got medela pump in style from insurance. Have a hygeia enjoye from last kiddo.
  • I bought Medela Instyle. Unfortunately, my insurance does not have to provide a pump. I had an Ameda Purely Yours last time. It worked fine, but I lost it in a move. I've heard nothing but great things about the In Style pump, so I figured I would give it a shot.

  • Pump in style. I have one from dd but since I'll be returning to work and intend to pump until Ian is 1, I wanted to make sure I had a good one. This way I'll be able to leave the pump at work and just transport parts/milk back and forth.

  • Pump in Style because insurance.  Not crazy about the "let down feature" where it automatically slows down every three minutes, but, hey, free, so can't complain too much!

  • Ameda Purely Yours is the only one my insurance covered through Target.
  • I absolutely love my medela pump in style advance the insurance covered! It works way better than the one I had with my son.
  • I have a Medela Swing that I got with DS and I wouldn't buy any other brand because it works very well for me
  • Ameda Purely Yours is the only one my insurance covers.  It works great thus far.
Live like there is no tomorrow..Love like you have never been hurt...
  • Medela Freestyle. My insurance covered the In Style (and others) OR the cost of the In Style and I had to make up the difference. After I realized everything I still needed for the In Style (bag, attachments, etc.) it was the same cost as the difference for the Freestyle which included all the extras except for disposable items (cleaner, bags, etc).

Also, it felt good to hear from the medical supplier "you know the Freestyle is the Rolls Royce of pumps, right?" FTM here and probably don't need that fancy of a model but what the hell, why not??
  • Will still be using my korean hospital grade pump I used w DD. It is durable. Pumped for almost two yrs. Just replaced some parts. I'll be using it sparingly this time some I'll SAH this time. The brand is not available here in the US

i love you, my little mooncake mahal kita

  • Medela freestyle which is what I used previously. Best feature for me? Rechargeable battery. Don't need to be inside or by a plug to pump. And it was great.

  • Thanks ladies, I plan on ordering one tomorrow. I'm leaning toward the medela starter pump. The other one I was considered is a Freemie Freedom Deluxe
  • I got the medela pump in style advanced starter kit. I had the ameda purely yours last time but it seemed to crap out around 8 months so I decided to try something different this time.

  • I got the Pump in Style Advanced. My insurance would cover any pump up to $500 so I considered the Freestyle but it seemed like it got a lot of not so great reviews on Amazon.

I also chose the PIS with the backpack because it is 1-2 pounds lighter than the other bag styles.

  • I got a Hygeia ... Heard lots of great things about it and some even say it works better than the Medela (which I had the first time) so figured I might as well give it a try since insurance is covering it. Excited to try it

  • Freestyle! It has a rechargeable battery and is so portable. We traveled back and forth to my parents a lot with my first which was a 6 hour car trip. Between car pumping and work pumping it saved me a lot of aggravation.
