Nursing to sleep

My DS, almost 15 wks, didn't always need to nurse to sleep but he started to about 2 or so weeks ago. I don't mind the extra cuddle time, but with this new change, now I'm the only one who can put him to sleep, which I don't love. Any suggestions for how I can get back to walking or rocking to sleep? I don't want him to only be able to fall asleep with a boob in his mouth.

Re: Nursing to sleep

  • You'd need to remove the nursing association from baby's bedtime routine.  The easiest way to do this is probably to feed LO just before the bedtime routine and then have DH or someone else put the baby to bed. FWIW, I nursed LO to sleep/co-slept for almost 19 months and had no issues stopping that routine when we weaned a couple of weeks ago.  DH or I can both put her to bed at night, no problems.
