Still medicating while pregnant

Does anyone else have any pre existing medical conditions/diseases in which you have to continue treatment while pregnant? I was diagnosed with chrones disease last August. It's an IBD that affects your intestines. I know get infusions every 6 weeks to treat the symptoms because it is incurable. My doctor assured me that it was safer to continue while pregnant. I haven't received an ob's opinion yet. Before getting on my medication I lost 25 pounds and just in bad health generally. It can be very unsafe to have a flare up if I stop the treatment. Anyone else have a similar situation? How are you dealing?

There is a High Risk board under All Forums if you're bumping from mobile. If you're on the website it pops up using the search option. In the High Risk board you can search for Crohns and it should have a couple of threads with Crohns in the title.

  • Tell your OB ASAP. My guess would be they would have you continue some type of treatment, but that may put you in a high risk category. That would probably warrant a visit to a MFM specialist. Check out the high risk board!!
