  Just curious how others use their cards.  I like to get something for free, so if I have a $50 gift card, I try not to spend more than the amount of the card.  However MH likes to buy what we normally would, and views the gift card as a way to get more...so if we go out to eat, instead of just getting entrees and paying with the card, he wants to get appetizers and dessert as well.

October 2012 Metformin 1500 mg= ovulation on CD34 BFP#2 11/14/12 9DPO, EDD 7/26/13, DX Gestational Diabetes @14 wks, our angel born sleeping 3/24/13 @ 22wks 2d.   Walmart and grocery store cards are a discount since I would be shopping there anyway.
  We frequently have grocery cards due to DH winning store contests.
  
  Restaurant cards, it depends on the value and the restaurant.
  $50 is less than an average dinner out for 2 at a nice (not fabulous) restaurant, so we'd spend it all anyways.
  * for Christmas there was a deal - buy a $50 card, save $10 elsewhere...we bought 3 x $50 cards for a fabulous restaurant, which will be completely used and then some...and the 3 x $10 discounts will all be used as well.
  
  If I got a spa card, I'd probably try to keep my purchase close to the value.
