DD had a cold last week that went away I think. She then had a doctors appt Monday where she could have picked up another one?
She has been spitting up more than usual yesterday and today to the point where I thought a couple times it could be vomit (how can I tell?).
Then tonight she has been having difficulty breathing. Something gets caught in her throat maybe? She tries to spit up and gags/chokes and we have to turn her and hit her back to get her to breathe again. This happened three times in the last 40 min. She ate and burped fine in that time frame.
She is asleep propped up in my arms and I am too terrified to go to sleep.
Thoughts? Should I call the nursing line? I don't know what they could tell me to do for her other than not lay her flat on her back...
TIA!
Re: DD sick and choking?
When M had his cold he slept on me the whole time because he would choke on (I'm assuming) the post nasal drip. It was a long couple of days, but he got better quite quickly. I hope it's the same for your LO!

It's pretty obvious IME when a baby is vomiting vs spitting up. When they spit up, fluid runs or even can burst from their mouth with a burp or alone and unaided. But they almost don't even notice spit up. When they vomit, their whole body tenses up to "heave" and their little eyes get watery from the strain. They also make gagging faces.
ETA: E just got over a cold and did an awful lot of gagging because of his post nasal drip. He'd also gag and almost throw up every time he coughed. He did throw up quite a lot.
Yeah I am thinking an all nighter may happen.
And I will call the nurse's line. I just find them so unfriendly when I have called! I feel shamed for calling

They said it was post nasal drip and keep her propped at night. I slept with her propped in my arms and I sat up and slept. And by slept I mean fell in a very light sleep for a few hours. I woke up every noise or movement and checked her breathing constantly. Nothing like MOTN to make my fears even worse!
Anyway thank you all! She is still doing it so I am sure we will be up tonight again. I got some naps today though.
Saline spray, humidifier and steam from shower at work today. Hope it passes quickly!
