  A LOT of people have used Amma and have had great reviews over a series of years here.  We used the classes set up through Regions and I'd highly recommend AVOIDING theirs unless they've gotten a new instructor.  The gal that has been teaching the classes for eons probably did more to make the L&D process more difficult than it needed to such that her reputation precedes her on the floor of L&D for how much (negative) added work she makes for the staff & Moms. 

  Where I really learned the most was - I had a complication at the 8mo mark and while cooped up at L&D for observation and get the problem fixed/resolved, I used the wait time to talk to the L&D nurses with an open mind (it was also super quiet in there that weekend)!  When it came time for L&D things went so much smoother because I was more prepared with an understanding of what the way to go was for meds and such, I was a lot less fearful of the process because of what I learned (biggest one was "go in with an open mind, not a birth plan!"), and had far more of a "natural" induction than I did with DD who took twice as long to deliver..

  FYI- I'll be attending the Jan 10th All-In-One Amma class and also the Jan 15th Labor Workshop Skills class.  Going for all natural- Yikes!

  If you're delivering at an Allina hospital, I recommend theirs because you get to hear about their policies and what they have/what you need to bring, etc.

  If you have time before you are due, take a Bradley class! Helped me successfully deliver drug free last March!

  I delivered at a Fairview hospital and took their class at the hospital where I delivered. It wasn't amazing but I'm so glad I was familiar with their methods and policies.
