Hi ladies,
I intro'd probably about a year ago and have lurked off and on since then, but I think I will be making my official move over to this board, if you will have me. My history is in my siggy, but for anyone mobile I have had 2 mc's and 4 failed IVF attempts due to poor egg quality (I have a Balanced Translocation- anyone else?).
I have been emotionally ready for awhile, but my husband is finally on board with moving onto using a donor. We are just starting the process, so trying to decide between donor eggs or embryo adoption (may I ask what helped you all make that decision, either way?).
I hope you will have me. I look forward to getting to know all of you and supporting you through your journeys.

IVF #3 with PGS: 5/10/2014: Switched to FET in July. 10 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized, 2 healthy embryos!

FET #1: 7/31/2014: Transferred 2 nearly perfect (6AA, 6BA) healthy embryos- BFFN

Laproscopy: 10/2014: Healthy uterus

IVF #4: 12/8/2014: Canceled. 17 eggs retrieved, 15 mature, 10 fertilized, all unhealthy embryos

    Welcome! Due to my age, I knew that it was a possibility when we started the IVF journey. We tried one cycle with my eggs and it was cancelled because I didn't respond to the meds. I will most definitely look into donor embryos if my last two FET's don't work. I think that will be a harder decision for DH. Good luck to you with whatever you decide!

    DE FET #2 9/5/14-Transferred 2 4BB 5 day embryos Beta 9/15/14 BFN

    DE FET #3 in December- Cancelled, didn't respond to meds

    DE FET #3 (2nd try) 2/13/15- Transferred 1 4BB and 1 4BA 5 day embryos Beta 2/23/15  BFN again (CP)

    DE FET #4 - last 2 frosties....5/22/15- Transferred 1 4BA embryo...only one frostie thawed properly.  Beta scheduled for 6/1-  BFN (beta 2, 2.81, 6, 23, 49.4) 6/15/15 Discovered ectopic in left tube.  Methotrexate given. Moving on to a new donor. Hoping to transfer by the end of the year.

    Cant find a donor that is healthy and available.  Looking at being happy with just the two of us.

    I have DOR and my husband has a BT (5 &10). Our hx is in my siggy.  We are doing DE because of my DOR and DS due to my DH's BT.

    IVF# 1 W/ICSI= BFN
    IVF# 2: cancelled d/t no response
    IVF# 3= 1 egg retrieved=immature/not viable

    Found DHs BT and Me-decreased blood flow to uterus
    Recommended DE IVF w/PGD, incorporate electro-acupuncture. Decided to cycle locally

    Hi all,

    I'm also new. I was a lurker during my first cycle but would like to join the forum this go around to share stories, be a support, and also gain supports. My history is in siggy, but my story is basically that I've had 6 laps in my early teens due to endometriosis spreading up to my liver, hydrosalpinx, recurring ovarian cysts, etc. One failed IVF at RE's extremely small, private practice but switching to RMA NJ and have my first consult in a week. I hope to get to know you all very well also. Take care and have a happy, safe, and healthy New Year's!

    sorry you are finding yourself here but welcome. this board has been a wonderful source of information and support.

    It was hard to hear the statistics for my DOR, but I was able to move quickly to the decision to use Donor Eggs because I could not stand the higher probability of another loss. I have a long history of 7 miscarriages and honestly I could not bear the thought of even one more. 

    So the numbers made sense to use DE. also, I am 42 so we've been at this for a long time and I felt like I was running low on time.

    My husband is still a little freaked out about the DE but I am completely in love with my daughter already and I love being pregnant! I feel like we have a bond already.

    Welcome! For us, we went with DEg over EA because of our financial/insurance situation. We live in a mandated state, and our insurance covers up to 4 IVF ERs. They extend that coverage to the donor, though we were responsible for the donor's compensation & program fees. We used 3 of the cycles for my own eggs, and had such poor embryo quality that we couldn't bear the thought of using the last one on my eggs. It would've been a waste. So in our situation, we wanted to decide the best way to use our resources in order to maximize our chances. If we have the emotional reserve (which I suspect that we won't) and our DEg embryos don't work, then perhaps we'd consider EA. Though more likely, CFNBC or adoption would be our next step. Infertility has kicked our asses!!

    19R, 17M, 17F - transferred two Grade A blasts 11/16, four frosties!!!
    Beta #1 11/24 (13dpo/8dp5dt) = 367 ~ Beta #2 11/26 (15dpo/10dp5dt) = 709

    Welcome. I don't post much anymore, but thought I would share. We decided to use DEggs as the timeline was shorter with my RE. Our RE has a bank of egg donors waiting, but a waiting list for DEmbryos. At the time I didn't know any other options and since I was already 39, I wanted the shortest wait possible. I also had very few specifics I was looking for in a donor and picked one in less than 3 days.
    8/2011: Diagnosed with ovarian cancer, ovaries and tubes removed

    12/2011: Finished chemo

    5/2013: Cleared for DE IVF

    11/13: DEgg IVF#1

    8/5/14: Grace was born!

    We chose DE over embryo adoption as my DH wanted a genetic connection from his side.  Best of luck to you!

    DOR and AMA
    2/12-5/12: 4 IUI cycles = all BFN;
    7/12: DE IVF # 1 (with ICSI)- 20R, 16M, 14F, 5DT of 2 blasts; 6 frosties = BFN;
    Lupus anticoagulant initially high, then found to be normal on hematology consult;
    Follow up testing in September all clear;
    Started synthroid for "high normal" TSH;
    FET # 1- late October 2012- BFP on FRER; beta # 1- 21(low), beta # 2- 48 (still low), beta # 3- 132, beta # 4- 1,293; beta # 5- 5,606; last beta- over 100,000. First u/s 11/21- heard heartbeat
    12/12- Officially an OB patient!
    Level 2 ultrasound at 20 weeks shows vasa previa and VCI
    Referral to MFM and mandatory c section for delivery
    Beautiful baby girl born at 34 weeks
    Finally home after 15 day NICU stay!
    Trying for sibling: FET # 2- May 2014; beta 5/31, BFN
    FET #3, early July 2014; beta 7/14, BFN
    DE IVF # 2- August 2014; 14R, 13M, 11F, 5dt of 2 blasts (3 AA), 5 frosties = BFN
    FET #4- December 2014, yet another BFN

    Dr. KK work up shows borderline uterine blood flow, elevated NK cells, and MTHFR mutation (homozygous for c677t)

    Added baby aspirin, prednisone, supplements, Metanx, and intralipids

    Switched to large clinic for final attempt; had endometrial receptivity testing in January; FET March 2015 = yet another BFN

    Likely OAD- NBC

    Welcome! Our issue was strictly me, DOR and a miserable responder to stims. There were no apparent sperm issues, so we used DE. We are also extremely fortunate to be close to a top RE for DE cycles, so that made the decision fairly clear and easy. Wishing you good luck!
