When do you pack away Christmas?

I usually don't start packing away Christmas decorations until after the new year, but I am kind of getting the itch to start packing it away today. DH will do the outside lights Thursday or Friday (depending on weather). I'm thinking I am going to do the little stuff today and possibly save the tree for later this week. What is your plan?

I already took down stockings, and some random stuff that we had on the walls. We still haven't been able to do Christmas with my mom because she was sick, but as soon as we do, I'm going to take the tree down. I usually wait until after the new year too, but in ready to have the house back to normal!

I'd love to do it today but I've already got too much to do, and my cousin is coming to visit tomorrow so I'd like to leave it up for her to see. So we'll likely leave it up until new years day which is when we usually do it.

A couple of years ago we left it up till like MLK day for whatever reason. My husband walks rather heavy and with every step you could hear a ton of needles falling off.

Everything is coming down and getting packed away today. Normally it would already be done but we had company over the weekend so I figured I'd leave it up for them.

I did the tree and Christmasy decorations yesterday. I leave up a few snowmen and snowflake decorations up until the middle of January or so. All the red and green decor gets put away though.

Usually after the first week of January. If DH had it his way, we would leave them up until February. The guy is a Christmas nut.

Usually close to Epiphany. Never before New Year's Day! We have a lot of family Christmas. Had one last night, and one more party coming up over the weekend. I can never understand those of you who take it right down!!! To me, it's still the Christmas season at least through New Year's.

This year, I think we will take it down next weekend (the 3rd &/or 4th). The kids go back to school on the 5th (boo) and I have a c-section scheduled for the 8th. If not for the c-section, we might have left it up another week since we were late getting the tree up this year.

Right now, we take it down the day after Christmas. Our house is very small and to put up a tree, we have to move furniture around that makes it even tighter.

But before we moved back to FL, we would hold out to Epiphany.

I usually like to keep our tree up until after New Years and closer to the Epiphany but I am itching to take it down and get my living room back to normal. So it could very well be coming down tomorrow, or as soon as I get the motivation to pull all the boxes out.

We just finished putting our interior decorations away today (NYE) and hopefully my husband will be inspired to take down the exterior lights in the next day or so...

The tree and stockings came down the day after Christmas. I love real trees but, damn it, I am allergic to them and couldn't take it anymore. Plus the way the furniture was arranged to fit the tree was driving me crazy. The outside lights came down two days ago because hubby was bored being outside watching the kids ride bike so it gave him something to do. The wind took out the huge ornaments on an outside tree last night, which was the last of our outside decor. We found one of the ornaments at the bottom of the hill in a rain drain this morning, another was on the neighbors lawn, you get the idea. The rest of the décor is coming down on this weekend. I have some snowflake kitchen stuff that will survive for a few extra weeks because they are generic winter things.
