PP back pain

My LO is 4 weeks 5 days and, while everything else has healed for me, my back still has severe pain. I had extremely bad back pain the last two weeks of pregnancy and then back labor from hell for three days leading up to delivery (the pain was so severe that I never noticed the real contractions in my stomach even after my water broke). I thought my back pain would be better by now but it's still just as severe as it was day 1 of LO's life. Is anyone else still having or had back troubles? Severe enough to interfere with daily activities? What are some of your solutions? Right now I'm just taming it with the motrin given for pp pain.

Ps. I did have an epidural during labor. Thank goodness for that!!

Re: PP back pain

  • I've had on and off back pain since delivery. Twice it was so bad that I could barely move. Right now it's a dull ache. It's all in my lower back. I wondered if it was related to the epidural but I just think it's my body trying to adjust to a new posture like PP said, plus I've been doing a LOT of sitting on the couch which I'm sure doesn't help.

  • I have back pain when I am sitting up right in a chair trying to rock LO back and forth. It gets so bad it brings me to tears. Any other time I'm okay though. It's usually up high in my shoulders.
