I just found out the people that are going to start watching my child next week do not get the flu shot. They have 4 children, 2 are school aged. Would you still let your child go to that daycare? My daughter will be 6 months old on Monday. I plan to get her the flu shot at her next appointment.
The trouble is they are friends of mine, and they told me that they fully vaccinate so I assumed they got the flu shot as well. Thank you for your input.
Re: WWYD
I would probably be a little pushy about "why don't you get it?" Not so much because of my own child but because of immunocompromised people everywhere.
Skipping the flu shot is one of my pet peeves, though, so maybe just me.
Quoting from text: "Every time I get the shot, I get the flu regardless and I feel terrible after the shot. It's like getting the flu twice."
However, I do think they will be great caretakers.
I feel better, thanks guys!
That said, DH, I, and my DD all got the flu shot/will be getting the flu shot this year (6 month appointment in Jan). Because, flu shots yo.
