Just curious... how do you pump? Do you hold the bottles or do you use a bra that holds them up? Let's discuss...

Re: Pumping Poll

  • I've been pumping since we brought LO home from the hospital and a hands free bra was a game changer! I bought the Medela bras and used those at first but ended up sorely disappointed in them. They work but the zippers on them are terrible and the flatten your boobs into a pancake so wearing one out of the house made me feel ridiculous. I bought a few of these cheap bras from Amazon and made my own: https://www.amazon.com/Bali-Womens-Comfort-Revolution-Wirefree/dp/B00DOZNYI8/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

  • I've been holding by hand but this will probably need to change when I go back to school next week (cue tears)

  • I've gone to exclusively pumping--I'm using Freemies--you can use your own bra--saves sooooo much time not having to change clothes into a pumping bra.
  • Ditto to @AeandJb‌ I spilled milk when using my hands. I'd pop the seal while massaging all the time. I EP and the hands free let's me bottle fed, work, or eat while pumping so super important for multitasking.

I got Simple Wishes, but had to buy the one inch extender online for a better fit.
  • I pump once a day now, but I still use the simple wishes hands free bra. It was definitely essential when I was EP a few weeks ago.

  • I find holding the bottles gives me a better seal than the Simple Wishes bra. With the bra, I'd get trickles leaking from the edge toward my feet.

For sure using the bra has its advantages (hello eating and bumping), but I can't hold the kiddo. Don't know how others do it.

  • I've been meaning to make a bra from a sports bra, but haven't gotten around to it so I finally bought one. It's been handy, though I still hold the bottle sometimes. Just depends. I've cut back on pumping quite a bit, but imagine I'll use the hell out of the bra when I :shudder: return to work.
  • I do both. If I need to pump both, I wear the bra. If I'm pumping one side after lo has eaten off the other I don't bother with the bra.

  • I use a Medela hand pump so the bottles hold themselves to the pump.

  • Bought my medela bra awhile ago. Tried it on this morning and it's too small. I went by the size chart. It lied. :/

  • I use the bra when I pump after DS's first morning feed. If I'm only pumping one side (like when DS takes a bottle), I just hold it.

I had to go up a size bigger than the chart. They run small in my opinion
