When the baby comes in june, my kids will be out of school and home with me. With a newborn we wont be able to live at the pool and lakeside like last summer. What suggestions do you have for fun things we can do together, especially so they dont feel like their little brother or sister is getting in the way, as they LOVE to swim???
Re: plans for older siblings for summer???
You can still do those things with the older ones-- perhaps have a family or friend come and help you out, or go out for a couple hours around babys feeding.
We don't live by family, but my sister is coming up to help with DS #1 and take him to his day care and help him at night while DH works and stuff....
You should still try to normalize the "big kids'" lives as much as you can!

Splash pads are another great idea! The one near us has great shady areas where you can protect baby but still be able to see older kids.

I'm also contemplating asking our parents to take DS1 in august for a week or so, so he gets some solo attention. But I don't want it to be too close to the arrival of baby that he feels shipped away.
