Who saw the "Benjamin Button" movie?

DH and I are having a date night this Saturday, and we want to see a good movie.
I was thinking about this one.
If you saw it, was it worth the 3 hours?

Re: Who saw the "Benjamin Button" movie?

  • I didn't, but my family LOVED it!  My dad said it was 5 stars out of 5 (he made this comment after he read a review that only gave it 3 out of 5).

Good to know. DH thinks it will be boring, but I will let him know it sounds like it's worth it. Thanks!

  • I saw it. I'd give it 3.5 stars (out of 5). The story was great, fabulous characters but I thought Brad Pitt was just okay.

    But a good date movie.?

  • DH and I went and saw it for our 5 year anniversary the other night. We both loved it. I didn't want to see it because I thought it looked creepy, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was almost 3 hours long, but it didn't seem like it because we were enjoying it so much. I highly recommend it.
  • It was good (bring tissues!) but reeeally far from the short story it is based on. It also felt INCREDIBLY long, as if I could have watched Titanic twice within the time of this movie. However long it was, I still wanted to know what was coming next so it did move along. Also, I didn't like Cate Blanchett too much in it, but Tilda Swinton was fabulous. FAB-U-LOUS.
  • Thanks for the reviews, ladies.
    Tissues = check!
I'll put them in my purse. ; )

I am excited now. I love interesting movies like this. Seems like forever since something like this has been out. A good drama.
  • I thought it was WAY too long and the acting was terrible (very surprising considering the talent). Just my $0.02! Have fun on your date night!
  • I saw it and loved it because I love Brad Pitt and I liked the story line but have heard there are so many other better movies out.?I still really want to see Grand Torino, Frost/Nixon, Revolutionary Road, Doubt, Marley & Me (all my friends loved this)

I also want to see Marley & Me, but will probably have to see that one with the girls. DH doesn't want to watch me cry the whole time. LOL
But, sounds like this story could be sad too.

  • I didn't, but I want to.  I came into this post to see what everyone thought.  Long or not, I still want to see it.  My daughter, sister and I did the three LOTR movies back-to-back one weekend.  Granted, it was at home (not the theatre), but I am sure I can survive this movie.

Whoa! I bet that was one heck of a marathon! But, that would be fun. : )

  • I didn't love it. Too long, went nowhere. Though of course, BP is HOT. Wink

See Slumdog Millionaire! Much, much better movie IMO.
