So I read the food allergy thread and i am wondering what foods everyone has tried with their LO. I didn't want to take over the other thread so I decided to make this one.
We buy store bought and I think she's had every kind of Gerbers that are stage two. She loves vegetable beef for dinner and loves all the fruit mixtures for lunch. We also bought her strawberry oatmeal the other day and she loves it!
Oh ok, thanks ladies DD has had carrots, green beans, peas, pumpkin, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, banana, pears, apples, avacado, mango, plum, turkey. She pretty much likes everything. I just like getting an idea of what others are doing. I know everyone is different though
She's tried everything I eat plus several varieties of food pouches from the store. Some stuff she likes and some she doesn't, but she's more likely to like it if it can be warmed. We do both foods that require chewing and purees. She has no teeth but it's an excellent chewer.
She has had yogurt and liked it, she liked eggs, and she likes chicken and meatballs. Last night was the first time she actually ate pasta. Normally she sucks the sauce off and spits the pasta out.
I also shared some Indian food with her and she loved it. Regarding the spices, I figured that's what babies in India eat!
DS has had everything in the Beech Nut prepared food line, and I make the rest of his food. He LOVES pumpkin and squash with nutmeg and/or cinnamon, and yogurt is an emerging favorite. Hegoes nuts over beets, but I hate feeding to him. he mostly ends up looking like he ate a raw animal.
i want to offer eggs, but I remember reading that they shouldn't have egg whites until their a year...anyone else encounter this? do you know why?
@andoll8 if you're worried about allergies they typically recommend no egg whites, strawberries, shellfish, and a few other things until after 1. But I believe they're in the process of changing that recommendation. We give DD all the foods (except honey), but we don't have any food allergies in the family.
She's tried most of what I eat. I mostly cook without salt so she can eat it too. Sweet potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, Apple, pear, avocado, butternut squash, broccoli, cauliflower, pasta, ground beef, chicken, salmon, black beans, babaganoush, hummus, tzatziki, yogurt, eggs, toast, zucchini, blueberries, watermelon, melon, clementine. She's only been eating solids for 3 weeks.

spinsoffresonance thanks - i'd wondered about all that. he's already had some of the usual suspects with no reactions, so maybe we'll try some eggs after all. we have no history of allergies, so I guess it's not likely that DS will either.
We've pretty had every fruit and veggie. No meat until 8 mo so he's 8 mo tomorrow so this weekend he will try some!
Oops. Is this a guideline I missed @thd7580? I've already given my guy meat and he just turned 7 months

The pedi said we could try anything but honey since we have no history of allergies. DS doesn't really like anything. We've tried rice cereal, applesauce, mum mums, pizza crust, passion fruit sorbet, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. DS like chewing on the mum mums and pizza crust but didn't know to swallow it, liked the sorbet and mashed potatoes, sucked the cheese off the pasta and spit it out and hated everything else.
My pedi also said the recommendations for introducing high allergin foods is changing. She said the earlier the better (like 8-9 months). DS has tried every type of baby food and I haven't found 1 thing he doesn't like. Loves yogurt. Plan on starting eggs soon

Just going by my pedi. She said no meat until 8 mo. And no eggs til a year. We don't have allergies but still I wanna wait and go off what she says. Just a personal preference.
This thread makes me feel way behind! I have made my own mashes and we have done sweet potatoes, peas, apples, squash, banana, and avacado. So far he has eaten everything but banana has been the only thing he was really into. He does however love his rice cereal. I wasn't even going to give him cereal but the pedi suggested it to boost his weight gain and he really likes it so we kept it. Usually I do cereal and a fruit or veggie every evening. We are waiting until after 1 for pb, egg whites, and honey at pedis recommendatioin.
I make basic foods but I also buy a lot. I have tried mixed meats with veggies, all the stage two stuff. She gets oatmeal mixed with a fruit in the morning if I have time before the gym. Then a lunch and dinner. I usually give her a fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner. But I am starting to mix in meats with her veggies
I typically make purees. I'm lazy, so DS has had peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, peaches, and oatmeal. I bought pumpkin, applesauce, and yogurt for him too. He seems to love it all! He's also had jarred pears. I have so many frozen cubes stored, I'm waiting to make more when I have more freezer room. I think he also had some of my avacado the other night. I'm getting ready to try bananas and carrots this week if I can get some energy to do it.
I usually puree whatever we had for dinner. So we BLW with what was for dinner, and leftovers go into the blender. I made a roast a few weeks ago that had some wicked awesome gravy that had a good hint of spice to it, and he had that blended up.
I couldn't even tell you a complete list of what he's had as we really havent been keeping track at all.
We've steered clear of PB, strawberries, and honey, but anything else is a go, including eggs, meat,
I have no idea what she has eaten at this point. I have avoided shellfish because we are both allergic but she basically eats bits of what we have. Sometimes before bed I give her a purées vegetable mixed with oatmeal/cereal in hopes of getting her to sleep longer!

I also need to start introducing spices.
I did slip him some Christmas pudding as the world would have ended if he didn't have a taste according to him.

Packaged adult hummus and pizza crust with a little cheese on it which she devoured.
Gerber prunes and plum puffs and earths best oatmeal.
Spices/ etc: cumin, chili powder, cinnamon, paprika, and some butter on a baked potato.
ETA- peanut butter. She's had that too. I basically feed her whatever we're eating. I'm avoiding shellfish, honey, and cows milk until a yearish.
