Or any other ladies that have traveled out of Chicago...

Does anyone have any experience flying out of Midway?

Looking for advice/opinions about parking there vs driving down the nigh before and finding a hotel that will let us leave the van there and shuttle us to the airport.

That sucks @econmama. Thankfully I dont drink coffee and will hopefully have no reason to need to spend a night there. We are flying Southwest so there wasnt much choice on airports. Minneapolis and Milwaukee would have needed a connecting flight. Chicago I was able to get nonstop.

@Rmnam1‌ raises good points. I have had better luck there than O'Hare. If you do stay at a hotel, bring food.

Once when we were unexpextedly stranded by a cancelled flight at Midway, we stayed at a hotel close by and tried to walk to a nearby restaurant. Options were really limited. We ended up at some Polish or other eastern Euro deli that had a huge barrel of sauerkraut in the corner.

If you think midway is small and blah...you should see the airport closest to me. I think they have a gift shop and maybe a restaurant. Granted they recently remodeled so I don't know if they added anything. @HannahAlex‌ would know.

OK...hotel booked with shuttle service and parking

I've had great success flying out of Midway. There is a Portillo's down the road.

Something not too far off the highway. Just looking for a stop on the way to Chicago for some food and leg stretching.
