Toy storage

What do you have? Do you love it? Hate it?

DD is just turning 1 so pretty much all of her toys are in the main living area and probably will be for a while. We had them mostly corralled in an ottoman thing but after Christmas and with her birthday coming up it is not going to contain them anymore.

I'm hoping for something that won't look horrible in my living room and that can possibly transition to be used in her room as she gets older. I was thinking maybe an ikea expedit type storage unit but wanted to see if anyone had any better ideas.
