Lets talk about growth spurts

My kiddo is 5 weeks, but he arrived at 42 weeks gestation. The last three days have been really rough. He isn't sleeping and he is hungry all the time. He is eating twice as often at night and maybe 1/3 more often during the day. As a result his nighttime sleep is only about 1-1.5 hours at a time and daytime he will be up for 3-6 hours before finally giving into a nap. When he does fall asleep it is for short periods and he acts like he is awake while asleep. He is moving around like crazy, making tons of sounds, etc. Is this similar behavior to what you've seen?

    Caleb hit 6 weeks yesterday and he is doing exactly that. Its been three days now and i am tired. Beyond tired. How muxh longer??

    Also in addition to the six week spurt there is a nasty one that starts around 7.5 weeks and goes until they are almost ten weeks. It's also a "wonder week." We are in the throes of that right now and not enjoying it! You do get a little break between the six and eight week spurts-this is when my LO started social smiling-so enjoy that!

    Pretty sure we are in the 6 week spurt now. He is eating all. The. Time. What you described sounds about right to me. We are getting more smiles though....so that helps ease the pain.

    I think our 6 week growth spurt started last night... It's kind of hard to tell because over the past couple weeks DS has grown increasingly fussy and spitting up more along with having some mucousy stools.

    While I'm sorry for all those experiencing the same thing, I'm glad I'm not alone And that there is an end to this madness!

    We are in the midst of this 6w spurt as well. It's a pain and has made my kid hateful. I want my sweet girl back. Between the clingyness and not sleeping, this mommy is tired.
