We have had some sleep setbacks with DD. As a newborn she slept decent because as we know, newborns sleep a lot. When she hit about 3 months she started waking up more often. We put her down at night and within an hr we normally have to pop the binky back in a couple of times. Then maybe a few more throughout the night. We usually try to ignore when possible but when she keeps making noise we worry she will wake 3 yr old sibling plus she keeps fussing. Is this something they eventually outgrow?
Re: popping binky back in during sleep
Our 4 month old is going through this right now. The past week has been him up every hour of the night (after he just spent almost a month sleeping through the night). Last night he only woke once, but went right back to sleep after I went to his crib and put his paci in. Evidently, this is normal, and there are some sleep "retraining" techniques that are supposed to work (or at least help in the long run). We've been doing them and he's been getting better, bit by bit.
As far as putting his own pacifier back in, when he's awake he can grab his paci and tries to put it in his mouth himself, but he's only successful about 15% of the time. He can't seem to get the nipple in his mouth - he always tries to put it in backwards or sideways, lol.
